08:00 14.01.03

Trintech's Smart 5000 Achieves Record-Breaking Transaction Speed of 8.4 Seconds at Omnicard in a Competition Organized by the Germany Banking Industry

Trintech Group Plc (NASDAQ: TTPA: Neuer Markt: TTP), a leading provider of secure payment solutions, today announced the launch of Smart 5000, officially the industry’s fastest smart card terminal. Trintech’s newest terminal achieved a record-breaking speed of 8.4 seconds at the Omnicard conference and exhibition on January 16 in Berlin, Germany. The transaction time was recorded during an industry-wide competition organized by the German Savings Banks Association, Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband (DSGV). Competitor products were between 16% and 50% slower.

Six leading POS vendors participated in the event which has been used to highlight the importance of deploying fast secure technology to keep chip and PIN based transaction times to a minimum at the point of sale. All devices in the competition were required to have a hybrid card reader, as DSGV considered this the most convenient design for retailers and customers. The transaction was measured from the point of insertion of the chip card by the cardholder until the removal of the card. The PIN number was verified by the smart card in a process involving triple DES encryption and encrypted PIN processing. The results prove that chip and PIN with modern technology is faster than a cash transaction which is calculated by DSGV at 15 seconds.

Bernd M. Fieseler, Managing Director of the Executive Board of the DSGV, said that the primary reason retailers are reluctant to accept electronic cash was transaction speed. The findings were based on a study carried out by DSGV among 200 German retailers. Germany is recognized as one of largest debit card markets in Europe, with over 50 million chip cards issued, with the DSGV issuing over 60% of this total. There is further opportunity for growth and for retailers to embrace electronic point of sale technology. Fieseler said that the German German Savings Banks Association believe that the installed base of 444,000 PIN acceptance terminals will realistically increase by 50% within two years.

"This independent testing confirms Trintech’s leadership position in transaction processing times for smart card transactions," said Peter Ebus, Trintech’s Product Director. "With a sub-second transaction time, Trintech also has the distinction of the fastest transaction time for a terminal processing Geldkarte, Germany’s stored value smart card payment scheme. The results of the transaction time testing are published by the German public banks, Verein Öffentlichen Banken, on their web-site www.voeb.de." he added.

"At the heart of smart card deployment is the issue of transaction speed," said Eamon Keating, General Manager of Trintech’s Retail Business. "Consumers and retailers will only accept EMV smart cards with PIN verification if it improves check-out times. The Smart 5000 uses a 32 bit ARM processor and specially designed software to reduce processing times. In addition we have improved the ease of use of the product by providing a large display and keys, and hybrid card reader. All this means that consumers can quickly insert their card and enter their PIN in less time than it takes to complete a cash transaction."

Europe's Leading Mobile Top-up Provider Rolls-out Trintech's PayWare PrePay and Compact 9400i POS Terminals to Manage National Prepay Scheme

Dublin, Ireland/Dallas, Texas - 01 April, 2003 - Trintech Group Plc (NASDAQ: TTPA, Prime Standard (Regulated Market): TTP), a global provider of secure electronic payment infrastructure solutions, announced today that An PostTS S.A. in Spain has implemented an end-to-end mobile top-up solution based on Trintech's industry-leading prepaid technology solution.

Trintech is supplying the prepay-enabled Compact 9400i POS terminals for installation at several thousand locations across Spain. This follows an earlier installation of PayWare PrePay at the An PostTS S.A. headquarters in Madrid and PostTS UK's head office in Crewe, England. An PostTS S.A. and PostTS UK are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Ireland's postal service, An Post, which is rapidly taking a leading position across Europe in online transaction services. Trintech's Compact 9400i terminals deliver
significant time-to-market advantages and the system's modular architecture allows An PostTS S.A. to rapidly add further applications such as bill payment and credit and debit card payments.

Prepaid mobile phones are a fast growing component of the cellular industry, particularly in Europe. According to consulting firm AMS, over 60% of European mobile operators expect at least half of their customers to be using a prepaid service by 2005. Merchants can seamlessly integrate PayWare PrePay with new or existing Trintech POS terminals for the electronic replenishment of mobile phone prepay accounts, thereby cutting costs and improving operational efficiencies.

"We are very pleased to have chosen Trintech as our go-to-market partner in Spain and our central systems partner in the UK", said Martin Ryan, Commercial Director at PostTS. "PostTS is the one of the leading mobile top-up providers in Europe and our partnership with Trintech allows us to deliver excellent service at all of our locations, while giving us the flexibility to add applications according to our customers' requirements."

"Our announcement today with An PostTS S.A. further confirms our position as the industry's leading PrePay solutions company," said Eamon Keating, General Manager of Trintech's Retail Division. "The addition of Trintech's 9400i terminals perfectly complements our PayWare PrePay
solution that is already successfully installed and running at Post TS. Until now, merchants have been using costly paper-based top-up vouchers for prepay phones. PayWare PrePay allows merchants to print PIN codes from the terminal, or directly replenish the phone without the need for PIN codes by way of a direct link to the mobile operator."

- Online real-time activation of top-up
- Offline storage of PINs
- Fraud and theft prevention
- Zero stock requirement
- Improved cash flow
- Integrated card payments

Trintech's Compact 9400i terminals have a host of features, including increased memory, flexible memory use and quick receipt printing capabilities ensuring they are the ideal choice for the growing mobile top-up market.

PayWare SmartPIN, a leading chip and PIN solution for retailers, is the first to receive certification from Streamline Merchant Services, a member of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

London, UK/Dallas, US - 24 April, 2003 - Trintech Group Plc (NASDAQ: TTPA, Prime Standard (Regulated Market): TTP), a leading provider of secure payment solutions, today announced that it is the first company to receive Acquirer approval for its integrated point-of-sale EMV chip and PIN solution.

Trintech's PayWare SmartPIN solution is being implemented by Retail Business Solutions (RBS) at Wilkinson, one of the UK's largest home and garden high street retailers. This integrated point-of sale (IPOS) solution has now been certified by Streamline the UK's largest acquirer of card payments.

Wilkinson has become the first UK IPOS retailer to have its solution signed off for accepting chip and PIN cards in time for the Northampton industry town trial. The trial of the chip and PIN system will start in May 2003 as an initial step towards national rollout. Once the trial
is completed, Wilkinson plans to implement PayWare SmartPIN in over 200 stores across the UK.

"We are very pleased to be the first retailer with an accredited IPOS Chip and PIN Solution," said Eddie Clerck, System Development Controller at Wilkinson. "We believe that this represents a major milestone in the UK's move to accepting chip cards and PIN entry at point-of-sale".

The Streamline certification means that by using Trintech's PayWare SmartPIN, Wilkinson can accept international EMV (Europay-Mastercard-Visa) compliant chip-based credit and debit cards validated at point-of-sale using a PIN number rather than by signature. This will reduce the retailer's exposure and liability to card payment fraud.

The integrated point-of-sale (IPOS) solution has been signed off following rigorous testing including point-of-sale and back-office systems. "We are pleased to approve the UK's first EMV Chip and PIN implementation in an IPOS environment," commented Tony Redford of Streamline Merchant Services. "We believe that this is the first accreditation by an Acquirer in the UK and as such Streamline, Wilkinson and Trintech are leading the field."

The Trintech solution is designed for easy implementation particularly in an IPOS environment. "We completed integration with the Wilkinson point-of-sale application in a matter of days" explains Richard Goodall, Managing Director of Retail Business Solutions, Wilkinson's POS integrator. "Trintech provided tremendous support to help to us throughout the integration, test and approval processes."

About PayWare SmartPIN
PayWare SmartPIN is aimed at merchants and retailers that have immediate requirements for a secure and standards-compliant Chip and PIN solution that can integrate seamlessly with new or existing electronic point-of-sale EPoS) infrastructure. The solution includes Trintech's proven PIN Pad hardware and EMV application to enable chip card acceptance with PIN authentication in any EPoS system.

Werde wahrscheinlich nächste Woche meinen Bestand an Trintech Aktien nochmals aufstocken.

US $ dafür bereit.

2) Aktienrückkaufprogramm läuft weiter: Trintech stehen dafür 5 Mio US Dollar zur Verfügung. Bis jetzt wurden etwa 604 000 US Dollar dafür verwendet. Es bleiben also noch etwa 4396 000 US Dollar um den Kurs auf ein ordentliches Niveau zu bringen.

Leading UK Retail Integration Company to Market Trintech's leading EMV Solution to Merchants throughout the U.K.

Dublin, Ireland/London, United Kingdom - 11th June, 2003 - Trintech Group Plc (NASDAQ: TTPA: Prime Standard: TTP), a leading provider of transaction management and payment infrastructure solutions, today announced a distribution agreement with Box Technologies Limited, a premier supplier of IT hardware and retail integration services, in order to distribute Trintech's PayWare SmartPIN Chip and PIN solutions throughout the UK.

As January 1st 2005 approaches, POS resellers and medium and small-scale retailers are beginning to feel pressure to implement Chip and PIN programmes in order to avoid liability for fraudulent card transactions. Trintech and Box Technologies recognise that many need advice, guidance and solutions now.

Through Trintech's partnership with Box Technologies, this sector of the market can be confident that the solutions being presented to them are from the leading UK retail distributor who clearly understands their requirements and marketplace, offers affordable solutions and ensures that products offered have been carefully selected for effectiveness, compatibility and ease of integration.

PayWare SmartPIN is a secure, EMV Accredited and Bank Certified, end-to-end chip card solution that helps smooth the transition to chip and PIN. The SmartPIN solution includes the PIN Pad hardware, EMV software application, and an API that enables easy communication with any POS system.

"Our decision to select Box Technologies as a key distribution partner is based on their solid reputation, wide experience in the retail and reseller channels and their excellent customer base," said Bill Thompson, Channel and Partner Manager for Trintech's Retail Division. "Our goal is to work closely with one another, helping to educate the market and driving forward the implementation of chip and PIN solutions."

Russell Willcox, Managing Director at Box Technologies, added "At Box we are very familiar with the requirements of POS resellers and their client base of large, medium and small retailers and know that Trintech's offerings will be both simple to integrate and extremely cost effective. Trintech is a leader in the provision of Chip and PIN solutions. Our decision to select Trintech's PayWare SmartPIN solution was based on its performance, the completeness of the product range and because Trintech was the first vendor to achieve UK acquirer accreditation for their integrated Chip and PIN solutions. We will be working with our customers safe in the knowledge that we are offering the best Chip and PIN solutions in the market place".

PayWare SmartPIN is designed to tackle the growing fraud problem in markets such as the UK. With counterfeit and stolen cards accounting for the majority of all fraud, magnetic stripe technology with signature authentication has been identified as a primary weakness in the current system. PayWare SmartPIN allows merchants and acquirers to benefit from increased security because chip cards are extremely difficult to counterfeit and PIN verification is inherently more secure than a signature. The U.K. banking industry has mandated that, by 1 January 2005, any U.K. retailer that does not accept chip cards authenticated by PIN will be fully liable for all card fraud.

About PayWare SmartPIN
PayWare SmartPIN is aimed at merchants and retailers that have immediate requirements for a secure and standards-compliant Chip and PIN solution that can integrate seamlessly with new or existing electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) infrastructure. The solution includes Trintech's proven PIN Pad hardware and EMV application to enable chip card acceptance with PIN authentication in any EPoS system.

PayWare SmartPIN is designed to tackle the growing fraud problem in markets such as the UK. Recent statistics suggest that card fraud costs the industry £400 million annually and is rising at 55 percent each year. With counterfeit and stolen cards accounting for the majority of all fraud, magnetic stripe technology with signature authentication has been identified as a primary weakness of the current system. PayWare SmartPIN allows merchants and acquirers to benefit from increased security, since chip cards are extremely difficult to counterfeit and PIN verification is inherently more secure than a signature. Trintech’s Seventh Annual ReconNET Customer Conference Receives High Praise from Attendees
Over 100 Leading Organizations Gather in Fort Worth, Texas to Attend Sessions on Reconciliation Technology and Best Practices

Dallas, Texas/Dublin, Ireland - 24th June 2003 - Trintech (NASDAQ: TTPA: Prime Standard: TTP), a leading provider of transaction management and payment infrastructure solutions, today announced that a record 105 leading retail, utility, hospitality, dining, services, government, financial institutions and other organizations recently gathered in Fort Worth, Texas for the seventh annual ReconNET Customer Conference. Highlights at the conference included the unveiling of new products, with a host of new features and functions that focus on reducing costs and improving efficiencies for our customers.

In addition to previewing new products in development, the event enabled customers to interact with product managers, developers, support personnel, partners, and relationship managers in sessions on new uses for the ReconNET reconciliation and cash management system, and to network with other users to share real-world experiences. Over one-third of Trintech’s 300 strong ReconNET customer base was in attendance at the event, an event that has grown every year.

"This is the sixth customer conference I’ve attended, and I gain something new every year," said Dan Madhu, Accounting Analyst at Sears, Roebuck and Co., a leading retailer of apparel, home and automotive products and services. "In addition to the technical information I get from the conference itself, I get valuable business knowledge from networking with other users. I’ve applied both to improve processes within my organization, and have made it a goal to attend next year’s conference as well."

The three-day conference that began May 19 included preview sessions for new products, including a dynamic analytics module that enables senior management to graphically view cash management trends, and daily round table and panel discussions with peers and industry representatives. The conference hosted more than 40 technical and "best practices" sessions on ReconNET uses, including gift cards, credit cards, deposit verification, Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, bank-to-book general ledger reconciliation, and unclaimed property management. Throughout the event, one-on-one demos and consultations were available in labs staffed by members of the technical support and development team.

"We were delighted by the enthusiasm and customer interaction at this year's conference," said Randy Jesberg, president of the Funds Management Division of Trintech. "This event is part of our ongoing commitment to our customers' success. In addition to sharing information on new features and new ways to use ReconNET, the conference provides a forum for direct feedback from our users that guides our organization – from development to services – to make ReconNET more valuable."
