PRESS RELEASE
Up-to-date Extranet Access Management by NorCom
NorCom releases new version 1.1 of its NGS BeanGuard software, supporting BEA‘s WebLogic Server 6.0
Munich, September 4, 2001 – NGS BeanGuard, the revolutionary system for extranet access management and e-security of the Munich-based NorCom Information Technology AG now supports the 6.0 release of BEA´s WebLogic Server, including service pack 2.0. The new type of technology for access control and security of Java-based web platforms and e-business applications is one of the first products to be fully compatible with this version of BEA´s application server. „Fast support of the latest releases is part of our strategy, enabling our customers to use the most recent server platforms. Supporting BEA´s WebLogic Server means trusting in the best technology available and in the future of web application servers“, says Viggo Nordbakk, CEO of NorCom.
NGS BeanGuard safeguards all resources on application services, including Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) and the methods and interfaces of individual beans. The system permits individual authentication, authorization, monitoring/auditing and administration of access rights across all system platforms and domains. Implementing NGS BeanGuard is particularly straight-forward thanks to the interfaces with web and application servers. Administration is via standard web browsers.
The system protects everything in the web-server environment from simple HTML pages to servlets, Java server pages, active server pages and graphic elements. In contrast to security technologies, which are integrated in operating systems and web servers, NGS BeanGuard can monitor access to all parts of complex e-business environments from a central location. Thus, for example, the user is able to change domains after logging on without having to sign on again (single sign-on).
NGS BeanGuard currently supports web servers Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0 and Apache 1.3. Numerous application programming interfaces (APIs) are additionally available for integrating client/server applications.
