Die Vectron Systems AG leitet für das Jahr 2000 eine Marktoffensive im unteren
Preissegment für Kassensysteme ein. Dieses Marktsegment soll mit vier neuen
Modellen erschlossen werden. Voraussichtlich ab der CeBIT 2000 wird mit der
Neuentwicklung Vectron POS Micro das leistungsfähigste Modell dieser Reihe
vorgestellt.
Vectron konzentriert sich bei diesem Produkt auf die Software und hat soeben
den Auftrag zur Produktion der Hardware an die Epro GmbH in Gronau vergeben.
Vectron hat zunächst 5000 Geräte geordert.
Unterhalb dieser Eigenentwicklung soll aber auch der Markt für Kleinstsysteme
bedient werden. Für diesen extrem preissensiblen Bereich kooperiert Vectron mit
einem der führenden japanischen Kassenhersteller, der TOWA Meccs Corporation,
Tokio. Vectron wird zunächst auf dem deutschen Markt drei Modelle dieses
Herstellers exklusiv vertreiben. Entwicklungsvorstand Jens Reckendorf: "Eigene
Entwicklungen im Bereich der Kleinstsysteme wären für uns vor 2001 nicht
realisierbar gewesen. Durch diese Kooperation kann der Markteintritt sofort
erfolgen. Hinzu kommt, daß TOWA, als Massenhersteller mit Produktionsstandorten
in China, diese technisch vergleichsweise simplen Geräte weitaus günstiger
produziert als wir dies selbst könnten."
Vertriebsvorstand Thomas Stümmler: "Unsere Vertriebs- und Fachhandelspartner
benötigen Lösungen in jedem Preisbereich. Bisher haben wir uns auf den mittel-
bis hochpreisigen Bereich beschränkt und das gesamte untere Marktsegment dem
Mitbewerb überlassen. Wir erwarten für Vectron ein großes zusätzliches
Umsatzpotential. Die mit den vier neuen Modellen erwarteten Umsatzerlöse sind
in der bisherigen Planung für das Jahr 2000 nicht enthalten."
Bei einem geplanten Umsatz von DM 18 Mio. in 1999, bzw. DM 35 Mio. in 2000
strebt die Vectron Systems AG mittelfristig einen Gesamtumsatz von DM 100 Mio.
an. Vertriebsvorstand Thomas Stümmler: "Langfristig orientieren wir uns an
vergleichbaren Unternehmen, wie z.B. der amerikanischen Micros, Inc. die
bereits über DM 500 Mio. Umsatz erreicht."

Vectron product offensive in low-price market segment
- Four new models in the low-price segment

A Vectron Systems AG market-offensive due to start in early 2000 will aim at
the low-price segment. The company plans to open up this market-segment by
means of four new models. The most powerful one of these models, the Vectron
POS Micro, is scheduled to be introduced at CeBIT 2000.
With these products Vectron will concentrate on the software while the hardware
will be manufactured by Epro GmbH in Gronau, Westphalia. An order for 5000 units
has just been issued.
In addition to this, Vectron will soon be serving the market for small and
smallest POS systems. In this extremely price-sensitive segment, Vectron
Systems AG cooperates with one of the leading Japanese manufacturers of ECR
systems, the TOWA Meccs Corporation, Tokyo. Vectron will be the exclusive
distributor of three TOWA models in Germany.
Director of R&D Jens Reckendorf: "2001 would have been the earliest date for
the introduction of new models in this market segment, had we attempted to
develop them all by ourselves. This cooperation makes an immediate introduction
possible. What is more, by letting TOWA manufacture these relatively simple
devices in China, Vectron is able to keep the cost of production on a much
lower level than would have been possible otherwise."
Marketing director Thomas Stümmler: "Our distributors need solutions in any
price segment. In the past we concentrated on the medium- and high-price
segment and left the whole low-price segment to our competitors. We are
expecting a huge additional sales potential. The expected turnover from these
four new models is not yet considered in our financial planning for 2000."
With a planned turnover of DM 18 million for 1999 and DM 35 million for 2000
Vectron Systems AG is aiming at a total turnover of DM 100 million in the
medium-term. Marketing director Thomas Stümmler: "In the long-term, we are
orienting ourselves to comparable companies like the American Micros, Inc. who
already reached a turnover of more than DM 500 million."
