Trex Celebrates 30 Years of Innovation With Performance-Driven Exhibition at the 2026 International Builders Show

In 1996, four executives from Mobil’s Composite Products Division acquired the rights to a groundbreaking wood-alternative decking material, launching a company that redefined the decking industry. Three decades later, Trex Company [NYSE:TREX] is the world’s leading brand of composite decking and railing, and a driving force behind the evolution of outdoor living. At IBS 2026, Trex will build on its legacy of innovation and disruption by unveiling a striking new exhibit that brings performance, beauty and sustainability to life – setting the stage for the next chapter of the brand and the future of the category it pioneered.

“Thirty years ago, our founders set out to challenge the status quo and build something better,” said Adam Zambanini, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Trex Company. “That same mindset continues to drive everything we do today. We are excited to return to IBS with a bold and extensive showcase of performance-engineered products that continue to push boundaries and raise the bar for the industry.”

The Future of Outdoor Living is Here

Designed to do more than just showcase products, Trex’s new exhibit puts performance on full display. Intentionally fluid in its layout, the 50’ x 60’ booth delivers a modern, high-energy environment that invites attendees to step inside and explore the science, service and innovation that have defined Trex as an outdoor living leader for the past 30 years.

Balancing bold architecture with approachability, the space is anchored by immersive, purpose-built environments that move visitors seamlessly from inspiration to education. Dedicated product stations spotlight Trex’s robust outdoor living portfolio – from its industry-leading composite decking and railing systems to fasteners, cladding, fencing and deck drainage – using a mix of curated physical samples and digital content. A dedicated marine demonstration area reinforces Trex’s ability to perform in the toughest environments, underscoring its submersible decking solutions and leadership in waterfront applications.

At the heart of the exhibit, the Performance Lab delivers a hands-on, technology-forward experience that brings Trex’s proprietary advancements to life. Through a combination of physical displays and digital storytelling, attendees can see, touch and understand the unmatched engineering behind Trex’s decking, railing and accessories, including the company’s SunComfortable™ heat-mitigating* technology, Class A-rated and WUI-compliant fire-resistant boards, marine-capable performance and durability advantages.

Complementing the Performance Lab is the Trex Advantage Room. This semi-private area allows dealers, distributors and builders to dive deeper into the innovations, insights and support available from Trex to help them win more business.

“We wanted a booth that would stop people in their tracks and immediately communicate what Trex stands for,” said Jodi Lee, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Trex. “This exhibit reflects how Trex shows up for the industry today – confident, performance-driven and focused on delivering real value. Every element of the space is designed to highlight how our products perform in real-world conditions and why Trex continues to set the standard for the industry – even after 30 years.”

New Product Zone

Beyond its attention-grabbing exhibit, Trex’s award-winning Select® decking will be showcased in the IBS New Product Zone, giving attendees a firsthand look at one of the industry’s most advanced mid-priced composite decking options. Featuring the brand’s SunComfortable™ heat-mitigating* technology, the latest additions to the popular Select line are engineered to reflect the sun and help keep the surface cooler* underfoot, delivering enhanced performance without compromising durability or value.

*Trex SunComfortable™ decking stays cooler than original Trex boards, but like all decking, it will get hot in direct sun on hot days, especially darker colors. Care should be taken to avoid extended contact between exposed skin and the deck surface, especially with young children and those with special needs.

Special Experiences at the Trex Booth

Trex will also host a series of events and activities in the booth during IBS to engage attendees and thank customers for their trust and partnership over the past three decades. Among the highlights, Zambanini and CEO Bryan Fairbanks will raise a toast to officially commemorate the company’s 30th anniversary during a reception in the booth on the first day of the show, followed by a meet-and-greet with Instagram influencer Darren Keefe on Day 2. Known as “The Dancing Carpenter,” Keefe will be in the Trex booth from noon-2pm on Wednesday, Feb. 18, greeting visitors and sharing his personal experiences working with Trex products.

“Kicking off our 30th anniversary at IBS is just the beginning of what will be a pivotal year for Trex,” added Lee. “Throughout 2026, you’ll see Trex showing up in new and unexpected places and ways – meeting homeowners where they are and creating fresh touchpoints that inspire demand. Everything we’re doing is designed to drive awareness and preference for our products and, ultimately, more business for our channel partners as we look ahead to the exciting next chapter in Trex’s story.”
