Commerx and Commerce One Align to Bring Robust eProcurement Solutions to Commerx Customers
CHICAGO and WALNUT CREEK, Calif., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Commerx(TM), Inc., a leading Internet marketplace developer and provider of eCommerce solutions for industrial processing markets, and Commerce One, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMRC - news), a leader in global eCommerce solutions for business, today announced an agreement to offer and enhance robust eProcurement solutions for PlasticsNet.Com(TM), the first in Commerx's family of industrial marketplaces.
The relationship further reinforces Commerx's overall strategy to provide a full portfolio of Web-hosted applications and services for its customers in the $400 billion domestic plastics industry and later into future industrial processing markets. Commerx's ``e-volved'' marketplace strategy extends the traditional buy/sell focused marketplace model to incorporate a comprehensive integrated application and customized services solution.

Initially, Commerx plans to embed the Commerce One BuySite(TM) Portal Edition eProcurement application within its industrial marketplace solutions offering. Commerx and Commerce One have also agreed to work together to expand the total offering and continue to develop tools that meet users' industry-specific needs.
