Inspekteure der Internationalen Atomenergie-Organisation IAEO haben im Iran bislang nicht gemeldete Spuren von hoch angereichertem Uran entdeckt. Dabei handelte es sich um Proben von Vakuumpumpen aus dem ehemaligen Forschungszentrum in Lavisan-Schian bei Teheran. Der Iran wies die Berichte umgehend vehement zurück. Hoch angereichertes Uran ist die Voraussetzung zum Bau von Atombomben.
