Miranda Gold steigt!

The geology of the East Spruce property and peripheral areas include north-northwest and northeast-trending faults, and a north-northwest-trending anticlinal fold of Lower Permian Pequop / Rib Hill Formations and the Pennsylvanian Riepe Spring Limestone. The Rib Hill Formation is a known host to gold mineralization in the Star Pointer gold deposit in the Robinson Mining District near Ely, Nevada. The project is 0.5 mi (0.8 Km) northeast of Cretaceous quartz/granite porphyry intrusive rocks historically explored for molybdenum and copper in the Spruce Mountain Mining District.  

Notably, many significant Carlin-style deposits such as Goldstrike, Pipeline and Cortez Hills occur along the margins of intrusive rocks with associated folding.

Replacement silicification with anomalous gold occurs proximal to the north-northwest axis of the anticline and along north-south and northeast-trending fault zones in the anticlinal limb areas. The fold is about 2 mi (3.2 km) long by 1.5 mi (2.4 km) wide. The north-trending fault zone projects into pediment to the south.

At the north end of the property, gold values in rocks are anomalous over a strike length of 2,000 ft (610 m) in a silicified and decalcified north-south fault zone hosted by fossiliferous limestone of the Lower Pequop Formation.  Seven rock samples collected along the 2,000 ft-long trend range from 0.004 to 0.016 oz Au/t (0.148 to 0.548 g Au/t) with anomalous silver, arsenic, mercury, and a variable antimony, lead, and zinc association. Anomalous lead and zinc may reflect distal zoning from the porphyry system to the southwest.

Minor historic drilling is indicated from existing reclamation at the East Spruce property. No information is currently available from that drilling.

Miranda plans to advance the project and surrounding area with additional sampling and mapping to further understand a northeast-trending gold-bearing system that covers an area of 2.5 mi (4 km) long and 0.75 mi (1.2 km) wide.

In keeping with Miranda's business model as a prospect generator a joint venture partner will be sought to explore the East Spruce property"...

"NuLegacy GOLD Corporation (TSX-V: NUG) reports it has signed an agreement that incorporates MIRANDA Gold Corp.’s two square mile Coal Canyon property in Eureka
County, Nevada into NuLegacy’s Red Hill Prospect.

Dr. Roger Steininger, COO of NuLegacy Gold says, “With this acquisition NuLegacy Gold
completes the district scale consolidation of the 45 square mile Red Hill Prospect with the JD carbonate “window” in the eastern portion and the Coal Canyon “window” in the western portion (also referred to as the Windmill Window). Between the two “windows” a thin veneer of volcanic rocks covers similar carbonate units that likely connect the two. This is the largest and least explored of the five carbonate windows in the Cortez Segment, four of which host major Carlintype gold deposits.”

The Red Hill Prospect is in the south end of the Cortez Segment of the Battle Mountain-Eureka trend, and is immediately between Barrick Gold’s Cortez Hills operation to the north and US Gold’s Tonkin Springs operation to the south. Most of the historical exploration on these properties was conducted years ago when the operators were searching for near surface (less than 500 feet) heapleachable oxide gold resources.

NuLegacy Gold believes the Red Hill Prospect’s geology is similar to that which hosts the existing four Carlin-type deposits in the Segment, and these multi-million ounce deposits have their largest and best resources at depths between 500 and 1,200 feet"...

Miranda Gold Options Five Properties in Colombia

"Miranda Gold Corp. ("Miranda") (TSX-V: MAD) announces the acquisition of five new properties through its Colombian subsidiary, Miranda Gold Colombia II Ltd. ("Miranda Gold Colombia"). The Cajamarca, Ibague, Fresno, Santander and Anori projects are optioned from ExpoGold Colombia S.A. ("ExpoGold") and are subject to the Association Agreement between Miranda and ExpoGold.

Miranda has the right to acquire 100% of each of the five concessions by issuing 10,000 shares of Miranda common stock and making initial payments of US$10,000 to ExpoGold per property. In total Miranda will grant, subject to the rules and approval of the TSX Venture Exchange, 50,000 common shares of Miranda and make payments of $50,000 to ExpoGold. Under the government of Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, in office from 2002 to 2010, security issues impeding investment and exploration were diminished dramatically and now both major and junior gold companies are entering Colombia to conduct exploration. The well known Fraser Institute, which compares the relative favorability of mining jurisdictions with a range of metrics including political risk, reported in 2008 that Colombia is now comparable to Alberta, Canada and Ghana in overall exploration favorability. In the context of gold exploration, Colombia is now "open for business" as one of the least explored countries of South America and is a new frontier for the discovery of world class gold deposits.


Why Colombia for Miranda Gold?

Miranda's technical strength is in generating prospects that provide targets for world-class gold deposits. Colombia has a similar gold potential to Nevada for very similar geologic reasons. In addition, what Miranda Gold's technical team is capable of in Nevada, it can also do in Colombia.

Nevada will continue to be Miranda Gold's main focus for exploration. However, Nevada is a very mature exploration terrain. On the original Pavo Real concessions, sampling has identified two new anomalous areas of gold mineralization. The first area is approximately 600 m south of an area that up until recently was being mined by illegal miners. The area being mined had been off-limits to Miranda and Red Eagle while procedures were implemented to gain access and have the miners removed. The miners were working an area of anomalous gold in soils that has dimensions of 700 m long by 100 to 500 m wide. The soils anomaly contains approximately 30 known adits with significant sampled gold grades, The new zone, referred to as Quebrada Corosal, defined by 155 rock samples, is 340 m long and 137 m wide. Assays vary from below detection levels to a high of 45.7 g Au/t and average 1.29 g Au/t. The ground between this new anomaly and the area where the illegal miners were working has not yet been sampled.

The fourth area of anomalous gold is in the Quebrada Virgen drainage where 38 rock samples range from below detection limits to 9.80 g Au/t. Additional work is needed to see if these three target areas tie together"...

"The TAZ sediment-hosted gold project consists of 142 lode claims (4.6 sq mi / 11.9 sq km) along the Battle Mountain-Eureka Gold Trend in Eureka County, Nevada. The project covers a Carlin-style alteration cell in carbonate rocks that are age-equivalent to gold-bearing host rocks at the Cortez Hills, Pipeline and Gold Bar deposits. Previous drill results, from hole VC96-8, intersected 70 ft of 0.042 oz Au/t from 215-285 ft (21.3 m of 1.44 g Au/t from 65.5 - 86.9 m), within a 135 ft zone of 0.025 oz Au/t from 215-350 ft (41.2 m of 0.86 g Au/t from 65.5 - 106.7 m). This disseminated gold mineralization is hosted by the Devils Gate Formation.

Miranda Gold intends to conduct geologic mapping, surface sampling and data compilation to identify drill targets. In line with Miranda Gold's business model, a joint venture partner will be sought to further explore the project.

Location:

The TAZ project is located in the Roberts Mountains approximately 26 miles (42 km) northwest of Eureka, Nevada. The project is on the southern portion of the Battle Mountain-Eureka Trend, a northwest alignment of bulk-mineable, sediment hosted gold deposits including Pipeline, Cortez Hills, Gold Acres, Cortez, Horse Canyon, Gold Bar and Archimedes. The property is 16 miles (25.6 km) southeast of the Cortez Hills deposit, a +12 million ounce sediment-hosted gold deposit that went into production in 2009"...

At the Chert Cliff deposit mineralization is hosted in Webb Formation siltstones in contact with lower massive Devonian limestone. Drilling near Chert Cliff by Platte River Gold Inc. ("Platte River") in 2008 intersected 55m at 0.450g Au/t in the Denay Formation outside of the Chert Cliff resource area. The drilling by Platte River confirms the potential for significant mineralization at depth in the Denay Formation on the Rook property.  

The Rook project has favorable host rocks, alteration, geochemistry, nearby drill results with significant mineralization, and small surface gold resources nearby, all consistent with large sediment-hosted gold systems in the Battle Mountain Eureka Trend. The Gold Bar deposits, reportedly contained a gold resource exceeding 1.5 million ounces of gold, is a target analogue for the Rook project.

Gold gains 1 pct, silver jumps on oil rally, Libya

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Gold rose above $1,430 an ounce on Friday, while silver surged 3 percent to 31-year highs, as soaring oil prices fueled by widening clashes in Libya prompted investors to pile into safe havens.

Bullion hit a record high of $1,440.10 an ounce on Wednesday, notching its fifth consecutive weekly gain on fears that Libya's escalating unrest could spread across the Arab world.

Wall Street lost nearly 1 percent and the dollar declined as upbeat U.S. jobs data was offset by fears that rising political tensions in North Africa and the Middle East could crimp economic growth.

"It's really all about oil, and I suspect that's going to be the pattern next week as well. Gold's uncertainty hedge and ultimate currency roles continue to be very much in place," said Bill O'Neill, partner of LOGIC Advisors.

U.S. crude prices jumped to their highest levels since September 2008 as Libyan security forces cracked down on protesters in Tripoli and clashed with rebels near the major oil terminal of Ras Lanuf.

Spot gold hit a high of $1,431.85 an ounce and was up 0.8 percent at $1,427.31 by 2:08 p.m. EST (1908 GMT). Gold fixed at $1,427 in London.

U.S. gold futures for April delivery settled up $12.20 at $1,428.60, with volume down nearly 50 percent from the previous session and 30 percent below its 30-day average"...

Drilling Begins at Miranda's Red Hill Project

"Miranda Gold Corp. ("Miranda") (TSX-V: MAD) is pleased to announce that drilling has begun on its Red Hill project located in the Cortez Trend of Nevada. Miranda's exploration funding partner, NuLegacy Gold Corporation (TSX-V: NUG) plans to drill four holes for a total of 6,000 ft (1,829 m). This is intended as the first of phase of the 2011 drill season. Later in the season NuLegacy will drill Miranda's Coal Canyon project.

A second drill campaign in 2011 will be decided after assay results from this drill program have been evaluated. NuLegacy has permitted a total of twelve sites at Red Hill of which four were drilled in 2010. Sites H, G, A and F will be drilled during this current phase.

All four drill holes will continue to test the Long Fault structural zone and associated 7,380 ft (2,250 m) by 3,300 to 9,900 ft (1,000 to 3,000 m) IP geophysical anomaly. Wide-spaced drilling in this target area by NuLegacy in 2010 confirmed the presence of disseminated pyrite and carbon alteration associated with anomalous gold and trace element mineralization.

Current drilling is targeting the contact between the Long Fault and the Horse Canyon Formation, a lower-plate limestone that hosts disseminated gold mineralization else-where in the Cortez area. Each hole will be approximately 1,500 ft (457 m) deep and will be angled to the south. Drill site locations can be viewed on the attached map"...

Montezuma wird voraussichtlich drei Zielgebiete erkunden, in denen insgesamt sechs bis sieben RC-Bohrlöcher (Umkehrspülverfahren) über rund 9.300 Fuß (2835 m) niedergebracht werden.

Zu den im Rahmen der Bohrungen zu erkundenden Zielgebieten zählen:

Ice: Hier werden zwei Löcher gebohrt, welche die 2011 im RC-Loch MR11-01 entdeckte Mineralisierung genauer untersuchen sollen. In diesem Loch wurde ein 20 Fuß mächtiger Abschnitt (6,1 m) mit 0,205 Unzen Au/Tonne (7,025 g Au/t) in einer Tiefe zwischen 110 und 130 Fuß (33,5-39,6 m) ermittelt.

Vancouver, BC, Kanada - 15. Januar 2013 - Miranda Gold Corp. ("Miranda") (TSX-V: MAD) freut sich bekannt zu geben, dass der für die Finanzierung der Explorationsarbeiten bei Red Canyon zuständige Partner Montezuma Mines Inc. ("Montezuma"), ein 100 %-Tochterunternehmen von CMQ Resources Inc. (TSX-V:NV), mittlerweile alle Analyseergebnisse aus dem Anfang Dezember 2012 abgeschlossenen Bohrprogramm erhalten hat. Montezuma untersuchte drei Zielgebiete, in denen insgesamt sechs RC-Löcher (Umkehrspülverfahren) über rund 7.435 Fuß (2.266 m) gebohrt wurden. Nachdem in allen 2012 gebohrten Löchern anomale Goldmineralisierungen, die mit alteriertem Gestein in Verbindung stehen, durchteuft wurden, ist Montezuma sehr optimistisch und will deshalb die Bohrungen in der Bohrsaison 2013 fortsetzen.

Vancouver (British Columbia, Kanada), 12. August 2013. Miranda Gold Corp. (TSX-V: MAD) ("Miranda") beantragte bei der Agencia Nacional de Minería ("ANM") vier Explorationskonzessionen in zwei Erkundungsgebieten im Antioquia-Batholith. Miranda brachte die Anträge am 2. Juli 2013 ein - an jenem Tag, an dem ein zweijähriger Antragsstopp in Kolumbien aufgehoben wurde. Die Anträge umfassen insgesamt etwa 5.600 Hektar. Die beantragten Konzessionen befinden sich 48 bis 139 Kilometer nordöstlich von Medellín im Departamento Antioquia.

Die Explorationsarbeiten und die Kosten des neuen Antrags wurden im Rahmen einer strategischen Partnerschaft mit Agnico Eagle Mines Limited finanziert. Weitere Arbeiten werden ergeben, ob die Gebiete den Kriterien der Partnerschaft für ein geeignetes Konzessionsgebiet entsprechen (siehe Pressemitteilung vom 19. Februar 2013). .....

Vancouver (British Columbia, Kanada), 21. November 2013. Miranda Gold Corp. (TSX-V: MAD) ("Miranda") freut sich, ein Abkommen mit Alaska Hardrock Inc. ("AHI") bezüglich des Projektes Willow Creek bekannt zu geben, das 75 Meilen (121 Kilometer) nördlich von Anchorage (Alaska) liegt. Das Projekt ist über gut gewartete Straßen zugänglich, die während des gesamten Jahres befahrbar sind. Das Projekt Willow Creek umfasst den Großteil des Bergbaugebiets Willow Creek und beherbergt 74 patentierte Erzgangschürfrechte sowie 62 Erzgangschürfrechte, die sich im Besitz des Bundesstaates Alaska befinden (insgesamt etwa 8.700 Acres bzw. 3.520 Hektar).

Das Bergbaugebiet Willow Creek ist als der zweitgrößte historische Goldproduzent Alaskas bekannt. Vor 1950 wurden alleine im Gebiet Willow Creek fünf Prozent von Alaskas Erzganggold produziert. Die aufgezeichnete Goldproduktion zwischen 1911 und 1942 (als der unbedeutende Bergbau im Rahmen der Verordnung L-208 im Zweiten Weltkrieg geschlossen wurde) belief sich auf 667.000 Unzen mit einem Gehalt von 1,2 oz/t Gold (41,1 g/t). Das Gold von Willow Creek erfordert Meldungen zufolge keine Verarbeitung und weist alleine unter Anwendung einer Schwerkraftanlage eine Gewinnungsrate von über 80 Prozent auf; bei einer Schwerkraft- und Flotationsverarbeitung wurden Gewinnungsraten von über 95 Prozent gemeldet......[...]
