Seneca Co. Commissioners Hear Details About Wind FarmWednesday, September 28, 2011 - 7:43 AM
The Seneca County Commissioners were given more details on a proposed wind farm this week. The Review-Times reports two employees of Nordex USA outlined their plans to build wind turbines near Bellevue. The project would include 80 to 85 turbines, mostly placed in Seneca County, with some in Sandusky County.
Officials from the two counties met last month to talk about establishing an alternative energy zone for the wind farm. That would allow Nordex to make annual payments based on megawatts generated rather than pay taxes.
It will be awhile before any turbines are constructed. The company has not done any site surveys, and still needs to submit plans to the state's Power Siting Board for final approval.
