Merrill's Bowers: U.S. near cyclical low by Tomi Kilgore
David Bowers, Merrill Lynch's chief global strategist, believes the U.S. may be nearing a cyclical low, but cautioned that the nature of the U.S. recovery could be very different from that of recent years. Bowers added that the cyclical low point for Europe and Japan could still be six months away. That means signs of any global synchronized recovery won't become evident until the second quarter of 2002, at the earliest.
