Webcast This Thursday To Give Latest Details And Follow-Up On AK.TV, Global Interactive TV Channel, Kanakaris Wireless August 17 LaunchCEO Sets Stage For
Launch Of Interactive Channel And CinemaWEAR Technology
COSTA MESA, Calif., Aug 8, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Kanakaris Wireless (OTCBB: KKRS) CEO Alex Kanakaris will address viewers and shareholders regarding the launch of AK.TV and utilization of proprietary CinemaWEAR technology to
reach audiences with devices ranging from Pocket PCs to TVs. A webcast, followed by a click-and-view version and transcript, will air at 1 PM PDT, 4 PM EDT this Thursday at www.AK.TV. Kanakaris will be joined by employees and associates to provide updates on announced details of interactive, multi-platform TV type
channel.
"Our mission is to disprove skeptics who question our vision of the future of technology and content delivery," said CEO Alex Kanakaris. "In December 1995, when we successfully delivered the first full-length movie with no download time
over the Internet, there were those who couldn't understand the need for a new movie delivery system.
"Later we delivered books electronically with the ability to resize type, search by word or phrase, and there were those who questioned the need to push the boundaries of publishing.
"These developments pale by comparison with the wireless interactive TV type
channel we have created, AK.TV. Once again, those who are blind to change and
base their lives on criticism are writing off Kanakaris Wireless.
"There are no guarantees when you lead and innovate, but I'm putting my name on
the belief that 200,000 registered users (approximately, to CinemaPop.com),
viewers in over 100 countries (to CinemaPop.com), and an international cult
following can't be wrong. AK.TV and our CinemaWEAR technology are what we live
and breathe and I personally look forward to selling the sponsorships, products,
and interactive commerce that this combination offers."
"I also intend to debate skeptics who would rather see a company wallow in the
past or become one of the 500 failed Internet company statistics rather than
pursue a post-Internet technology and content vision," he added.
"Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and not everyone is well informed on
what young people like, but we will prosecute anyone who maliciously states
incorrect information about the company, in online chat rooms or elsewhere, in
an effort to decrease shareholder value," he added.
"Finally, we are making sure that everyone who is a member of the Kanakaris
team, in any capacity, can deliver 110% or they don't have a future with us," he
concluded. "I'm especially proud of those employees who have known and worked
with me for many years, because they are what brings the substance to our
vision," Mr. Kanakaris concluded.
"Once AK.TV officially launches, I will be able to communicate to our viewers
and shareholders live (remotely, from any location), whenever I want, with
special bulletins. This should keep our skeptics (and any underachievers) in
check and on their toes," Mr. Kanakaris proclaimed.
