WATERLOO, ON, July 7, 2011 - ARISE Technologies Corporation ("ARISE" or "the Company') (TSX: APV and Frankfurt: A3T), a leader in high-performance, high-quality, cost-effective solar technology, today announced that its Systems Division has been awarded a contract to supply a 70 kilowatt (“kW”) photovoltaic ("PV") rooftop solar system to the University of Waterloo’s newly expanded Faculty of Environment building, named ENV3.
“This flagship building is on track to achieve LEED Platinum certification, displaying the latest in sustainable design, material, process and technology,” said Bill Cooper, CEO of Cooper Construction, the building’s contractor. “ARISE’s photovoltaic system is an integral part of realizing this goal as it allows us to optimize energy performance and aligns with best practices in creating sustainable, green buildings.”
"This project represents an opportunity for ARISE to showcase our best-in-class PV systems,” said Dan Shea, President and CEO of ARISE. “Our solar energy solution will aid in the achievement of the LEED Platinum certification by improving energy efficiency.”
ARISE’s solar power system will span a large section of ENV3’s roof and will generate 60,000 kilowatt hours per year. The $20 million, 57,000-square foot ENV3 building is scheduled to open in fall, 2011.

Da hat doch bei uns um die Ecke (6km von Arise entfernt) ein Solarverkäufer(verkauft Chinakrempel) jetzt auf seinem Firmengelände eine Anlage über 1.7MW hingezaubert...innerhalb kürzester Zeit versteht sich und diese BÖRSENNOTIERTE Welt-AG mit fast 300 MILLIONEN Aktien vermeldet einen Grossauftrag über 70 KILOWATT...
PS:Ich würde mich schämen,sowas überhaupt zu vermelden!
Das ist ein Armutszeugnis,,,noch dazu,wo diese Anlage in Canada ja sicherlich aus staatlichen Fördergeldern gepampert wird werden...

After 13 months of being on line, the roof solar panels have reduced our dependency on the grid by about 80 per cent while providing an annual net return on investment of about 10 per cent. What Germany knows, and we have yet to discuss and factor into the equation, is that if one in four homes do this, then the need for new power generating facilities is greatly reduced. If some of that money saved is directed back into the industry to produce green alternatives, then that has my vote.

So then the question really becomes, is it preferable to pay 40 to 80 cents per kilowatt hour for wind/solar energy, produced when and where needed on a continuous basis, or, do we pay greatly inflated rates on the spot market to satisfy our demands for energy from more polluting sources?

Mark Jaccard, an economist from Simon Fraser University B.C., confirms that the real hurdle is selling the policies to the public. To quote, "People will tell politicians they want to save the planet but won't pay more for gasoline," or electricity for that matter.

Before the Ontario MicroFIT Program, ARISE Technologies Corp. (Waterloo/Ont.) with $40 million to invest was snagged by the German Trade and Investment Group in 2006. It now has 150 employees at its factory in Bischofswerda, has added a second production line with another scheduled this year.

Notwithstanding all of the above, only seven to 11 per cent of Ontario's electricity needs will be met by wind/solar by 2030. The real issue in my opinion is the ability of the average homeowner and farmer to get on line in preference to the large multinationals.
