08/05/2013 Nordex USA expects to finalize power purchase agreements for the 70MW Ringneck Prairie wind farm in Kansas following a key permitting milestone.
Grant County commissioners have approved a conditional use permit and payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement for the project. Under the PILOT deal Nordex will pay $3000 per megawatt annually plus a one-time payment of $150,000.
The developer is expected to finalize a road agreement and apply for a special use permit and building permits within the next two months, Grant County economic development director Kirk Schweitzer told reNews.
“We hope to be under construction this fall,” said Scheitzer. Work this year likely will consist of road building and electrical work with foundations and turbine construction starting next spring.

07/05/2013 Akuo Energy USA aims to break ground this year on the 100MW Dogtown wind project in Illinois after winning local approval, writes reNews.
The Ford County Board voted 10 to 1 to grant a special use permit that authorizes up to 49 turbines. The developer has yet to finalize turbine selection however it is considering GE 1.7MW, Nordex N117 2.4MW and Alstom ECO122 2.7MW machines.
