Wearable Computer Use in Special Education and Homeland Defense Take Center Stage
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- WHAT: Xybernaut Corporation (NASDAQ:XYBR - news) today announced that the company
will demonstrate technologies and lead discussions related to the application of wearable computers for special education
and security during the Maryland Technology Showcase this week (December 5-6) in Baltimore, MD.
Visit Xybernaut® at Booth No. 956 located in the Education Technology Pavilion. Xybernaut will be exhibiting its
industry-leading wearable computing platforms. Representatives from the Capitol Area Consortium for Wearable
Computer Research will demonstrate educational applications -- for example, Lisa Zverloff, special education teacher,
(Coventry Local School District, Akron, OH) will demonstrate use of wearable computers in a classroom setting for
students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Individuals from Xybernaut as well as other educational professionals from the University of Maryland, Queen Anne's
County (MD) Schools and Baltimore City Schools will demonstrate wearable technology capabilities including the use of
animation, video, speech command/control and many others.
Richard Bizar, managing director of Xybernaut development corporation (XDC), will present first-hand lessons-learned
in education environments during a panel session entitled, ``Collaboration Between Business, School Districts and the
University.'' This presentation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00AM until 11:45AM in Room No. 328.
