The workshop ended on an excellent note, where estimated 200 excombatants from North, South & Central, with their leaders sat down and duel on many pressing issues associated with mining, both pros and cons, were analzyed. they will now break into their own regional groups and further develop their negotiation positions. this week has been hectic for ABG. starting from monday this week, there was a presentation on the order of magnitude study by BCL on the ore reserve and many associated issues. Tuesday, there was a joint panguna national coordination committe meeting with GoPNG. On wednesday, there was a meeting with the United Nations Environment Program from Geneva suppoting ABG on the conduct of the environmental baseline studies . on thursday, there was a whole of ABG administration workshops on negotiations issues. and today ending the week with the excombatants workshop. there is plenty to ponder upon regarding mining, and all stakeholders are seriously contributing and committed to see a lasting solution.
