Dann wollen wir doch mal hoffen dass er am 23-25 zum grossen BOC(K) Sprung ansetzt.

Der geplante Termin für JSB u. NEC steht noch immer,eine offizielle Bestätigung dazu gibt es aber leider noch nicht.

AUSTRALIA wants the Papua New Guinea 2012 National General Elections held on time.
And this is why they are pouring in tremendous support financially, in the human resource aspect and with equipment and other assistance.
Australia through its AusAID program is helping the PNG Electoral Commission to make sure the elections are held this June, as underlined by the Constitution and the Government has increased its assistance to the Electoral Commission to deliver an updated electoral roll on schedule.
Australian High Commissioner to PNG, Ian Kemish said last Friday that the Government of Australia had provided K26 million so far to improve the capacity of the Electoral Commission to conduct successful elections this year.
Australia has now provided an additional 88 computers, on top of the 30 it previously gave to speed up the rate at which data for the electoral roll can be updated.
Mr Kemish said, a senior Australian Electoral Commission expert will start soon to help the PNGEC make the electoral roll more accurate, as well as fund four information technology and data entry experts, to remove duplicate entries and ghost names in the roll.
He said that Australia would also provide three senior Australian government specialists to work in key positions in the Electoral Commission, to improve its ability to conduct elections in June.
“There are many Australians who want the best for Papua New Guinea. And we think that the best for Papua New Guinea is what the Prime Minister himself is saying which is elections on time,” Mr Kemish said.
“And we want to try to help ensure that people have confidence in the process and this is an investment on our part in that process. So I think this is a significant investment.”
Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Commissioner, Andrew Trawen, has reiterated that there was no room for any deferring of the national elections.
He said this in response to Deputy Prime Minister Belden Namah’s announcement that Parliament was looking at deferring the election for 12 months to allow the government to fully implement its major policies.
Mr Namah’s announcement contradicted Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill’s wish to have the elections on time, and the stance by Mr Trawen himself that the elections will go ahead as planned in June.
“I think I made my stand very clear that we have to follow the Constitution and the Constitution provides for fixed term for the Papua New Guinea National Parliament and the term of five years will come to an end very shortly. So there is no room for any deferment, so I can say that the country will go to the polls comes April 27th,” Mr Trawen said.

The life of Papua New Guinea’s giant Ok Tedi gold and copper mine looks set to be extended again.

Ok Tedi Limited is working on a detailed mine extension plan, that must be put to government for approval, before mining can extend beyond 2013. 

The intial plan was to mining to cease in 2022 but Managing Director, Nigel Parker, says with gold and copper prices high that date has now been pushed out to 2025. 

More exploration on the pit floor is planned. 

Mr Parker says the company is on track for approval of the mine extension plan in September.

Mit einer gigantischen Order von 206 Stück wurde ein Kurssturz von 2,5 australischen Cent ausgelöst. Der Orderwert von A$ 190,55 lies den Kurs um 2,6% einbrechen und vernichtete eine Marktkapitalisierung von knapp 10 Mio Aussiedollar.

Na dann kauf`doch mal 130.000 Stück unlimitiert.

So kannst Du mit ca. $ 120.000 Milliardenwerte schaffen.---

CENTRAL Bougainville MP and Minister for Communications in the National Government, Jimmy Miringtoro (picture) says Panguna Mine issues are still important and landowners must be prepared to take negotiations to the next level.

Panguna Mine issues has always become a topic of interest for the international community, the media, and the people of Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Bougainville have been encouraged and assured by the MP, that negotiations have to change tactics now so that, Bougainvilleans would benefit from the mines spin-offs .

“The Panguna Mine alone contributed a lot in the development of PNG as a whole, and the revenue from the mine built bridges schools airports and roads.” Mr Miringtoro said.

“It even contributed in building the parliament house in Waigani.” he said.

He said leaders in that time were quite ignorant of the mining impacts to the environment, and if they were cautious enough the Bougainville crisis could not have eventuated.

“PNG is on a brink of coming to a standstill, because we have a lot of mines now but we are not feeling an impact, and no major development is taking place, to prove that these mines are making profit and revenue they are not even improving the standard of living for us Papua New Guineans. Mr Miringtoro said.

“Panguna was forced to close because leaders that time and the company (BCL) were not able to listen to peoples grievances and that are a lesson to us all both leaders and people that we need to listen to each other.” Mr Miringtoro said.

Mr Miringtoro said Panguna land owners and National Government must critically talk and consider everyone’s opinion if they are thinking of reopening the mine.

“People in Panguna were not given good water supply housing and health facilities but their land was taken out forcefully from them.” Mr Miringtoro said.

“When the NEC comes to Arawa next month for the meeting that will be an opportunity for landowners to talk face to face with the National government.” he said.

THE European shareholders of the Bougainville copper mine (ESBC)are predicting a high level share price this year despite “volatile markets”.

....................................... by Police at the Waigani national and Supreme Court precints this morning and he is being interviewed or questioned at the Konedobu Police Headquarters now. Police media says they do not know the reasons for his arrest.
But public know the allegations levelled against the CJ by the  O'Neill-Namah government and pending cases so we are told, the police will outline the details/reaons soon. I am told he will be taken to the Boroko police station to be laid formal charges and locked up and
refused bail!

........................  that the  CJ  was charged and released on his own recognizance.

ist ja alles gut und schön, aber wenn ich das richtig sehe, ist der Termin für Ende des Monats nicht bestätigt. Keine drei Wochen mehr Zeit für Vorbereitungen. Zumindest nach hiesigen Vorstellungen dürfte eine umfassende Vorbereitung/Planung kaum mehr machbar sein. Also gehe ich davon aus, dass der Termin nix wird. Wahrscheinlich verhält es sich dann ähnlich mit dem Termin Ende April und der Kurs sickert wieder abwärts.

Sollte ein Treffen dann aber stattfinden, gehe ich von einer Entwicklung aus, die den Kurs nachhaltig über $1 AU treibt. Nach meiner Hoffnung, die letzten Monate für ein günstiges Nachfassen. Mal sehen, wahrscheinlich hoffe ich das 2013 immer noch :-(

Grundsätzlich heißt es ja nicht, dass trotz fehlender offizieller Bestätigung nicht an den Vorbereitungen gearbeitet wird!

Wer sich erinnert, im Dez wurde das JSB Meeting erst an dem Tag abgesagt, an dem es hätte stattfinden sollen...

L.ist nichts von einer Verschiebung der Meetings bekannt, die Planungen laufen ganz normal weiter. Möglicherweise wurde das Interview mit Jimmy Miringtoro für die Islands Post schon vor einer Woche aufgezeichnet, dann stimmt die Aussage von " Next month" wieder mit dem avisierten Termin überein.
