SILVERADO PLACER GOLD RECOVERY AT NOLAN ALREADY EXCEEDS LAST YEAR’S PRODUCTION

Silverado announced today that 1,250 ounces of nugget gold (1/4” and larger) have been recovered to date since the start of sluicing operations in late June of this year.

These nuggets, which range in size from 1/10 ounce to 12.4 ounces, were removed periodically from the top parts of the wash plant gold recovery systems. Still to be recovered from the sluice plant this summer is gold concentrate containing gold smaller than ¼” in size.

Silverado is very pleased thus far with the results of the season.  Total gold recoveries and related financial numbers will be released as available during the balance of the season.

Last season -- 2005-06 -- Silverado Gold Mines Ltd recovered 939.07 ounces after sluicing 8,896 cubic yards of pay dirt.  Of this amount, 750 ounces were jewelry-grade nuggets of ¼” or larger, and the balance, or 189.07 ounces, was delivered for refining.

For this year, 2006-07 – Silverado is on track to substantially outperform last year’s production.

In den vergangenen Jahren war das Gold ja immer von sehr hoher Qualität, es konnte also ein Preis erreicht werden der stellenweise 25% über dem Goldpreis lag.

Bei Silverados "guten news" habe ich mittlerweile immer ein etwas flaues Gefühl.

Irgendwie scheinen diese bei den Anlegern häufig ein Verkaufssignal zu sein.

Wir werden es gleich sehen.

Silverado sollte jetzt technisch sich erholen und vielleicht eine Rally hinlegen. Die Chance zum 10 bagger ist da, vielleicht erst nach oder kurz vor den US Wahlen , auch Gold rückt in den Vordergrund... Riskiko entsprechend hoch aber ist hier normal, aber ich halte mich erst mal weg.

The US Department of Energy announced today it is planning a new round of its Clean Coal Power Initiative (CCPI).

Additionally, the Office of Fossil Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory today published a Notice of Intent to issue a funding opportunity announcement for Round Three of the CCPI.

The CCPI is a cost-sharing partnership between the government and industry to demonstrate advanced coal-based electric power generation technologies.

CCPI Round Three specifically targets advanced coal-based systems and subsystems that capture or separate carbon dioxide for sequestration or beneficial reuse.

Round Three is also open to any coal-based advanced carbon capture technologies that result in co-benefits with respect to efficiency, environmental, or economic improvements potentially capable of achieving CCPI coal technology performance levels specified in the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

DOE is interested in demonstrating advanced technologies not currently deployed in the marketplace; specifically, technologies capable of producing electricity in any combination with heat, fuels, chemicals, hydrogen or other useful by-products.

Prospective projects must ensure that coal is used for at least 75 per cent of the fuel energy input to the process, while electricity is at least 50 per cent of the energy-equivalent output from the technology demonstrated.

DOE is currently developing large scale geologic sequestration field tests on the order of one million metric tons of CO2 per year. The DOE is specifically interested in industry input on the best way to structure Round Three to allow demonstration projects under CCPI to integrate with ongoing sequestration field tests, which may already be fully operational by the time the new CCPI projects come on-line.

IMO ist wohl kein Interessent bereit mehr als 0,082 zu zahlen. Bei 0,078 werden seit Wochen immer wieder große Portionen "abgesahnt".

Wenn nicht noch ne sehr, sehr positive News rausgehauen wird fürchte ich auch den 10 - 15 % Absacker.

High grade gold disclosed during Nolan Lode Exploration Program

FAIRBANKS, AK, and VANCOUVER, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Silverado
announces that backhoe trenching during the continued exploration of the
five-mile long Solomon Shear zone on its Nolan Gold Mine located 280 miles
North of Fairbanks, Alaska, has disclosed a 16.4 foot (5 m) continuous chip
sample grading 5.22 ounces per ton (179 grams) gold, and 8.74% antimony by ore
assay. Due to the exceptionally high content of gold assayed, a second sample
was successfully re-assayed at the ALS Chemex Lab confirming this high value.

In addition to the high gold assay found in Trench H, high antimony values
were also found. Significant gold values were found in all of H, G and J
Trenches. The antimony values reached as high as 30%. These high antimony
values are consistent with the previous work in this vicinity where sampling
showed antimony assays as high as 46% (see press release January 29, 2007).

Solomon Shear is a highly mineralized gold-bearing system that extends
over five miles on Silverado's Nolan property. It has been the focus of
Silverado's extensive exploration program, which includes geophysical and
geochemical surveys in addition to the trenching program. All of Silverado's
"downstream" placer gold recoveries indicate likely sources higher in the
Solomon Shear system. The company is just in the beginning stage of exploring
these possible source areas.

Silverado Gold Mines is very pleased with these results and we continue to
expand on our knowledge of this discovery. Old time miners and Silverado
combined have removed more than 140,000 ounces of gold nuggets and dust from
the lower benches of Smith Dome and below Solomon's Shear. Our 2006 trench and
drill results confirmed the existence of high-grade gold-antimony-quartz veins
in the Solomon Shear. Our highest assay reading from 2006 was 0.83 ounces per
ton (see press release January 22, 2007). Now, we are encountering suspected
source materials that have assayed considerably higher than those from 2006.
This recently discovered high-grade area is under current exploration by
further trenching and an extensive drilling program. This drilling, using our
recently purchased diamond drill, will begin shortly and continue as long as
weather permits.

In June and July 2007, Silverado Gold Mines conducted backhoe trenching on
its Nolan Creek property, totaling 328m (1076.12ft), to further investigate
the gold bearing antimony-quartz vein systems previously identified in 2006
(see press releases from July 16, 2007, January 29, 2007 and January 22,
2007). A total of 107 combined select chip and continuous chip rock samples
were collected during the trenching program and submitted to ALS Chemex in
Fairbanks for analysis. To date, Silverado Gold Mines has received the assays
for three of the four trenches.

Trench G extends over 72.5m (237.86ft) and is located 25 meters northeast
of Trench F (see Fig. 1 - www.silverado.com/august082007/figure1.htm).
A total of 18 combined select chip and continuous chip rock samples were
collected during the trenching program. Sample interval 50-55m (16.4 feet)
contains 4.31% antimony (Sb). A select sample of an antimony vein from within
this interval assayed 24.60% (see Table 1).

Trench H, 25m (82.02ft) in length, is located 43 meters northeast of
Trench F (see Fig. 1 - www.silverado.com/august082007/figure1.htm). A
total of 6 combined select chip and continuous chip rock samples were
collected during the trenching program. Sample interval 5-10m contains 2.62%
antimony (Sb) and 0.02 troy ounces of gold per ton. Sample interval 10-15m was
assayed with 5.22 troy ounces per ton of gold and 8.74% antimony (see Table
2). This interval was re-assayed for gold by ALS Chemex and yielded 5.04 troy
ounces per ton of gold. A select sample of an antimony vein from within this
interval was assayed with 0.11 troy ounces per ton of gold and more than 1% Sb
(total Sb analysis is pending). Intervals 5-10 and 10-15 are currently being
further investigated by Silverado exploration geologists as the data obtained
to date appears to indicate the possibility of a high grade trend.

Trench J (Workman's Bench Trench), 38m (124.7ft) in length, was dug south
of Smith Creek, in the old Workman's Bench pit, located within in the
south-westward extension of the Solomon Shear trend. This trench exposed the
largest antimony veins discovered in the area to date, with widths up to 24 cm
(9.8 inch). A total of 15 continuous chip rock samples (2.5m composite) were
collected during the trenching program. Out of these 15 samples, 7 show
antimony values from 1.7% to 30.3% (see Table 3). 5 samples show values higher
than 0.01 ounces per ton gold, ranging from 0.01 to 0.12 ounces per ton gold.

normalerweise lese ich immer nur 2g-10g . Gilt das jetzt nur für die Bohrung oder wirklich für eine tonne gestein, oder haben die zufällig einen goldklumpen angebohr?......

was machen die andreren minen so an ausbeute? ich hab nur gelesen das silverado im ganzen letzten jahr 1250 Unzen geschürft hatte. und 179g sind doch 5,22 unzen. d.h die müssen 240 tonnen machen um die jahresproduktion vom letzten jahr zu haben. stimmt das?

....das ist doch eine goldader! wir werden es heute am kurs sehen...

Dieses Bohrergebniss steht für sich und über die Qualität des Gebietes muss man kaum noch reden, das Problem ist nur gewesen die Ader zu finden oder ihr nahe zu kommen... :)

The reasons for seeking alternative types of fuel are clear, Wynne told the conference audience.



"Over the last few years our dependence on foreign oil is increasingly obvious," he said.



Rising fuel prices have had "a particularly devastating effect" on the Air Force's budget, especially since the service is the largest consumer of fuel in the U.S. government, he continued. Indeed, for every $10 increase in the price of a barrel of oil, it costs the Air Force, $600 million more annually, he noted.



In the event of war, the cost of fuel could double on top of the increases already seen, Wynne said.



"So to hedge against the rising cost of petroleum and to hedge against the possible disruption in supply, we are preparing our fleet to fly on alternative fuels."



Accordingly, the Air Force wants all of its aircraft certified to operate on alternative fuels next decade and would like by 2016 to have half of the aviation fuel that it consumes be a synthetic blend (Defense Daily, Nov. 21, 2006 and Dec. 22, 2006). Based on the experience in qualifying the Fischer-Tropsch fuel on the B-52H, the Air Force now has a standardized process in place to certify the fuel on other platforms, Wynne said.



"In fact," he said, "next year we intend to qualify the C-17 fleet."



The C-17 is a Boeing [BA]-built transport aircraft powered by two Pratt & Whitney F117 engines. These powerplants are derivatives of the engines used on commercial Boeing 757 and 767 passenger aircraft. Thus certifying the F117 family of engines opens up the commercial airline industry, the largest consumer of aviation fuel, to the alternative blends, and creates a huge market for them, Wynne said.



"If we can stabilize and get to a manufactured price and get away from a commodity price, think of the withdrawal of leverage that it will bring from petty dictators or cartels across the world," he said.



The Air Force has said it expects that such fuels will eventually be more affordable, produce fewer pollutants and potentially enable greater engine performance.



Wynne said the Air Force does not intend to stop with petroleum- based blends, but rather, in working with DARPA, wants to develop clean, environmentally friendly fuel alternatives to petroleum.



"There are few technologies more needed today, I believe, than clean, ecologically viable ways to hedge our dependence on foreign oil," he said. "Our Air Force needs them and so does the nation...    



"If we could get it from a biological source to start from, what a change it would be," he continued. "If you invent them, we can test them. If they test well, we have qualified the process...If they work, I have no doubt they will rapidly move from the Air Force to the commercial world."
