Q1 Net Profit Up 141%
May 4 -- Sany Heavy Industry (600031) will invest $200 million to build a factory in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia, reports China Business News.
According to the agreement, Sany Heavy will buy land, build a factory, procure equipment, employ local staff and cooperate with Indonesia's educational institutions and technology centers.
Sany Heavy expects to create 1,500 jobs.
According to company chairman, Liang Wengen, the factory will be launched within six months after the signing of the agreement.
A total of 5,000 excavators per year are expected to be produced upon the completion of the first phase.
The company recorded an 140.60 percent year-on-year increase in first quarter 2011 net profit to 2.66 billion yuan, with earnings per share of 0.351 yuan, slightly higher than market expectations.
