bin aber wieder rein, weil ich denke noch etwas geht

in USA minus 25,76,meine ganzen Gewinne sind dahin, war schon über 30 % im Plus.
Die Frage, was ist passiert?
Nochmal rein mit billigerem Kurs, ist riskant, was machst Du @preisfuchs ?

Mehr als 20 % ins minus mit solchen Zockerwerten gehe ich eigentlich nicht.die Trendanalyse siht gut aus. Aktie liegt mittle-und langfristig im Aufwärtstrend.

"Kurzfristig, nimmt die aktie eine Verschnaufpause", naja, eher kurzfristig abwärts gerichtet.

CHICAGO, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Shares of Sycamore Networks Inc. (SCMR,Trade) rose to a 2-1/2 year high on Friday on reports the telecommunications equipment maker may have won a portion of a government contract worth as much as $900 million over two years.

Analysts cited a report on networking Web site Light Reading (lightreading.com), which reported Sycamore, Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO,Trade), Ciena Corp. (CIEN,Trade) and Juniper Networks Inc. (JNPR,Trade) won portions of a federal contract for equipment.

A spokesman for the Pentagon and the agency involved did not return repeated phone calls.

However, Juniper spokesman Kathy Durr said it is her company's understanding that final decisions won't be made until year end. Ciena spokesman Aaron Graham said no contract has been awarded, but the company is in the running for the optical transport business.

Sources from two other vendors in the process said these were actually invitations to the next round of testing, which will last three months, and the final winners will not be named until December. However, J.P. Morgan analyst Ehud Gelblum said those invited to lab testing will likely walk away winners.

Sycamore, whose shares rose as much as 27 percent, won the contract for optical digital crossconnects, Light Reading said, citing a vendor involved in the bidding and a federal equipment consultant. Sycamore and Cisco officials declined to comment or even confirm they are bidding for any of the work.

The U.S. Department of Defense's Defense Information Systems Agency is looking to build a large, global communications network that will combine fiber-optic communications and data routing products.

The contract is being broken into four parts: optical transport, optical digital crossconnects, multi-services provisioning platforms (MSPPs) and Internet routers. Each of the contracts is valued at about $100 million to $300 million.

In an optical network the MSPPs are the on-ramps, the optical transport creates the bandwidth and the digital crossconnects manage the bandwidth, while the routers are the big data switches.

HUGE POSITIVE FOR SYCAMORE

"The win for Sycamore is a huge positive for that company as it reestablishes the company in its core market," Lehman Brothers analyst Steve Levy said in a research note.

Cisco won the contract for the MSPPs, but a second supplier is likely, Light Reading reported.

"The win for Cisco is a positive surprise and also represents a negative event for Lucent, the supplier we thought had the best chance of winning this business," Levy said.

Prudential analyst Inder Singh said in a research note that indications were Ciena had discounted the transport portion in anticipation of winning the higher-profit crossconnect business. He said Corvis Corp. (CORV,Trade) may still be in the running to win some of the crossconnect contract.

Juniper reportedly won the contract for "core" Internet routers, Light Reading said. It did not identify a winner for the "edge" routers, but several analysts believe Cisco will win that business.

Core routers are used on high-speed connections between cities, while edge routers direct data where telecom service providers connect to customers at such locations as office parks, high-rise buildings and smaller central offices.

Lucent Technologies Inc. (LU,Trade) was not on the short list, but could still win some of the optical business, analysts said. Prudential's Singh believes it avoided overly aggressive, money-losing bids as it works to return to profits.

A Lucent spokeswoman declined to comment.

Sycamore shares rose as high as $5.25 and were still up $1.02, at $5.15 in Nasdaq trading, while Juniper shares were up slightly. Cisco and Ciena shares were off 1.2 and 2.4 percent, respectively, while Corvis shares fell 25.8 percent. Lucent's stock was up slightly on the New York Stock Exchange. Das sagt doch aus, daß Corv eventuell noch Aufträge kiregenkann. Sicher ist es aber nicht?? Oder habe ich das falsch verstanden?

eine überreaktion. nun ja, das eine aktie dann gleich 30 % fallen muss.

bin selbst drinn und bleib drinn. falls sie noch einen Auftrag bekommen ist gut, ansonsten eben langfristig.

Der ganze amerik. Markt schaut nicht so toll aus.
Bin jetzt über 26 % im Minus.Es kann nur mehr weiter abwärts gehen? oder ?

bin erstmals leider auch im Minus. Ende des Monats kommt die Meldung, ob CORV den Zuschlag bekommen hat vom Staat. Dann geht es weiter hoch, andererseits Seitwärtsbewegung.

muß man mal auch riskieren, daß eine Aktie erstmal Kursverluste macht, wenn man vom Geschäft überzeugt ist.
Da mir das Geschäft zu weit weg ist, und ich mit denen nicht gesprochen habe, verlasse ich mich auf die Chart-Technik. Und deshalb bin ich noch drin, und weil update software und Mis erst auch fast minus 30 % gemacht haben bei mir, dann aber kkräftig ins Plus geschossen sind.
Aber viel Platz nach unten hat die Aktie nicht mehr, dann muß sie raus.

The Columbia company will end this year with 1,200 employees, most of whom will work for Broadwing Communications, a telecommunications services company that was purchased by Corvis earlier this year. Corvis's original business of developing and manufacturing fiber-optics equipment for long-distance telecommunications networks has 180 employees, down from 1,700 three years ago.

Broadwing will generate much of Corvis's revenue as well.

"It is a sea change in terms of the focus of the company," said Hasan Imam, an analyst for Thomas Weisel Partners LLC.

Corvis has been reducing the size of its workforce to reflect the lack of demand for its products. Corvis was recently overlooked for a contract to help expand federal government telecommunications networks, a deal that could have meant at least $150 million in revenue over the life of the contract, Imam said. Analysts said that contract, which has not been officially awarded, will probably go to rival Ciena Corp.

"That was the straw that broke the camel's back," Imam said of Corvis losing the contract. "At the end of the day, they had to lay off anyway," because the company is getting only $5 million in revenue a year but maintained the workforce of a $300-million-a-year company, he said.

Ciena spokesman Denny Bilter said the Linthicum, Md.-based company has been informed that the government will begin testing its products for use in the expansion contract but that it hasn't officially won the contract yet.

The restructuring will save Corvis $30 million to $40 million a year and will allow the company to conserve more cash, said Andrew Backman, a Corvis spokesman. It will have $275 million to $300 million in cash and cash equivalents at the end of the year.

Corvis officials said the cuts were part of the company's continuing efforts to adjust to the decimated telecommunications equipment market.

Backman declined to comment on the government telecommunications contract.

eigentlich bin ich ja auch ein Freund von Turnaroundwerten,nur findet wohl hier der Turnaround gar nicht im eigentlichen optischen Glasfaserbereich statt ,sondern in ner zugekauften Telefonfirma.Momentan zweifle ich an meinem Gespür.ADCT kommt auch nicht hoch.

Frage mich warum . In USA liegt der Kurs um 7 % höher als bei uns.

Wer mutig ist kann hier jeden Tag zocken, weil bei dem Titel immer der Spread unterschiedlich ist, meist aber bald ausgeglichen wird.

Es gibt zwischen US Börse und Deutscher Börse oft einen starken Spread!!

Kaufe an der Heimatbörse und dann bist du auf der sicheren Seite.
natürlich die Kurschwankungen ausnutzen!! Um in Deutschland billig einzukaufen und zu warten bis sich der Kurs angegelichen hat. Und schwupps wieder zu verkaufen!!

Bei Corv war es immer recht unterschiedlich!!

Immer noch keine Nachricht von Corv??

Ich wäre ja gebleiben, wenn ich irgendwelche Nachrichten über Corv erhalten hätte,
aber so eine tote Firma, die keine antworten gibt, usw. ist sehr suspekt!!

Setze auf jeden Fall eine Stopkurs!

Focal expects to report annual revenues of approximately $320.0 million for
fiscal 2003. As of December 31, 2003, Focal had cash and cash equivalents of
$24.9 million.

Focal Communications will expand the reach of Broadwing's 18,500-mile nationwide
all-optical network into targeted local markets throughout the United States.
The addition of these metropolitan markets will help further support the
company's market attack plan with enterprise and strategic carrier customers.

excellent customer service," said Kathleen Perone, president and CEO of Focal
Communications.

The Company also stated that Focal Communications would help accelerate its
progress with its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services offering and its
"Access Forward" cost initiative, which is aimed at reducing local loop or
access charges. The Focal acquisition will help reduce planned capital
expenditures for Broadwing's current voice network platform due to the synergies
expected with Focal's state-of-the-art voice network. In turn, Broadwing will
enable Focal to offer bundled data and voice services to its existing customers
who subscribe primarily to voice services today. The Broadwing network is
expected to significantly lower Focal's current long-haul transport and
switching costs.

Richard Vigilante hat erst kuerzlich einen Kommentar ueber Corvis
geschrieben u. hat gemeint das Corvis in diesem Jahr " cash flow positiv "
werden wird. Bevor das der Fall sein wird, werden wir einen Preis pro Aktie
zwischen 3-4 $ sehen. Es kann natuerlich auch sein, dass der Preis noch fuer
ein paar Quartale um die 2 $ notieren wird bis wir auf die naechste Ebene
gehoben werden.
