das 100 punkte Gap morgen...

fürs Gesamtjahr die Planahlen an. Nachbörslich liegen sie bei L&S richtig fett zu; über 9% !! Dann bleibt ja noch die Hoffnung das es morgen einen kräftigen rebound gibt. Hoffe ja nicht das die deren Zahlen alleine wegen Harry Potter anheben, wäre aber schon interessant welchen Einfluß das hat.

hoffe dein amzn short hat eine lange laufzeit, hätte nicht mit so einer reaktion gerechnet...

Amazon Triples Profit

Amazon.com (AMZN) blew past analysts' second-quarter expectations and promised good times ahead for the rest of the year.

Amazon shares jumped 9% on the news, climbing to $75.51 in after-hours trading.

Net income jumped 257% to $78 million in the second quarter, or 19 cents a share, from $22 million, or 4 cents a share, a year earlier.

Net sales increased 35% to $2.89 billion in the second quarter, compared with $2.14 billion in second quarter 2006.

For the quarter, analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial/First Call had forecast earnings per share of 16 cents on revenue of $2.81 billion.

For the third quarter, the company says it expects revenue between $3 billion and $3.175 billion.

Analysts had forecast $3.1 billion in revenue.

For the full year, Amazon expects revenue of between $13.8 billion and $14.3 billion. Analysts expected revenue of $13.84 billion.

If the equity market is to recover from recent losses in the same way it has from other bouts of weakness, investors will need evidence that the credit markets are not seizing up.

As I have been noting, two major tests for the market will be the levels at which the Alliance Boots and Chrysler deals are priced. The more these deals cost to get done, the higher the market will price the cost of assorted other deals in the pipeline.

Waiting for the outcome on the Boots and Chrysler deals has pushed bond investors to the sidelines. They won't head back into the field until they have a better sense of where pending deals should be priced. The Boots and Chrysler deals will provide the benchmarks.
