Company Would Abandon Ohio Wind Project Without Tax Credit, Losing 200 Jobs In John Boehner’s Home State
By Stephen Lacey on Apr 26, 2012 at 11:15 am
A new survey shows that Ohio — the home state of House Speaker John Boehner — supports between 5,000 and 6,000 jobs in the wind industry...
The project would create between 150-200 construction jobs for Ohioans,  according to Everpower Renewables, the company building the wind farm..Speaker Boehner says that jobs are his top priority for 2012. And he has the opportunity to save hundreds — if not thousands — in his own home state just by helping pass a simple extension of the wind tax credit.

Wind Innovator 2012: Marc Sielemann, Nordex Chief Operations Officer

May 16, 2012 by Kathleen Zipp
To the untrained eye, there is little similarity between a car and a wind turbine. But to someone with a creative mind and commitment to improvement, the similarities are compelling. Even though the worldwide number of installed turbines today only equals the number of passenger cars produced in a single day, the underlying management and production principles from the mature automotive industry can effectively transfer to the production of wind turbines.

When Marc Sielemann, Nordex’ Chief Operations Officer, examined the company’s manufacturing processes he saw an opportunity for improvement.
He was determined to bring these benefits – cost savings, higher quality, faster throughput, minimized downtimes, increased capacity – to Nordex’ production of wind turbines....

Sielemann recognized that for the company to maximize the value of these types of improvements, there had to be a corresponding leap forward in the product line. The multi-disciplinary team that created the newest addition to the Nordex multi-megawatt turbine family, the N117/2400, worked under Marc’s maxim: Be bold and push the boundaries.

They did. To achieve ambitious targets the team turned to new materials and new ways of working. They fast-tracked development based on new design methods. Their focus changed from a “heavy and robust” model to “stable and efficient,” while maintaining the strength and reliability for which Nordex machines are known. For example, the 58.5-m blade is an important design innovation that creates significant competitive advantage. Using carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic, the team added 8.5m to the blade length while reducing its weight.

Big Wind blows into Brighton
Credit:  By Ed Barber, The Newport Daily Express, newportvermontdailyexpress.com 8 May 2012 ~~
ISLAND POND – With strong local opposition to the construction of wind farms and/or “demonstration” projects in Orleans County, what will be the reaction to residents of Brighton, Newark and Ferdinand about the proposed wind farm by energy development company Eolian Renewable Energy LLC?
Eolian filed for a Certificate for Public Good on April 12, proposing the construction of four wind testing towers. One of the 185-foot towers will be located in the town of Ferdinand, one in Newark and two will be located in Brighton. The testing period will be for five years, although Eolian can begin the process for approval of 12-25 towers sited in these towns.
… Eolian also has one project underway in New Hampshire and two in Maine, in early stages of development.
Based in Portsmouth, NH, Eolian is owned by Jack and Drew Kenworthy, who started the company several years ago. The project has a co-partnership with Nordex USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Nordex Energy GmbH, an international energy conglomerate. Nordex is a manufacturer of utility scale wind turbines and is headquartered in Chicago, IL.

liegt wohl nur an der Informationspolitik?

folgendes ist zwar was offtopic...aber irgendwie doch auch nich wirklich unpassend?

Event 1:
Jyllands Posten's journalists wrote d.16.april 2012, an article about Goldwin and Sinovel are considering submitting a bid for Vestas. The source should be Danish corporate finance people who are close to "process", ie an ongoing project. It is a significant practical news and Vestas rose course also subsequently by over 20%. Yesterday denied both Sinovel and Goldwin history, and Vestas fell back almost to the status quo.

Event 2:
A writer at Euro Investor, a north Jutland from Hjørring wrote 6 July 2007, inter alia, that: "Huge order for Vestas. Have spoken with 2 influential people from Vestas, which independently confirms an upcoming mega order from China.

Columnist at Euroinvestor received a sentence of 60 days' imprisonment for market manipulation.

For me it's actually two sides of same coin. But journalists should "go free" from any possible accusation of market manipulation, simply because they are journalists?

I think the FSA should join journalists to police for market manipulation.
What do forum?

/ 4 2012 12:02 AgntCoopr 155801
Probably closer to the people the reporter got his information from, which should be explored? Very much doubt that the journalist was trying to manipulate the Vestas share for personal gain. He has tilgengæld perhaps been pounding naive, and have allowed themselves to be blinded by a great story on a silver platter ...

Greater Gabbard dispute rolls on as project nears finish

SSE and partner RWE’s dispute with contractor Fluor over problems at the Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm is deepening.
Related Stories
SSE says it has submitted a robust defence against a claim from Fluor of £300m ($382m) for time and costs alleged to have been incurred carrying out additional testing and repairs of welds on foundations at the behest of the developers. “A formal arbitration process will resolve the dispute in due course,” SSE says.
The developers are pursuing their own claim, based on a “need for assurance as to the structural integrity” of 52 lower (monopile) and upper foundations (transition pieces) used in the early stage of the development. They question whether the equipment meets required contractual standards and can provide a 25-year operating life.
The consortium partners notified Fluor in October that all 52 foundations were defective and did not meet contracted standards.

The R2bn Red Cap Kouga wind farm project at Oyster Bay in the Eastern Cape is expected to go into operation during the second quarter of 2014 …
The wind farm, which in December 2011 was named as one of the preferred bidders in the Government’s independent power producer procurement programme, will generate 80MW of power and the first phase will consist of 32 turbines close to Oyster Bay.
The German turbine manufacturer Nordex is employed to provide the 2.5MW turbines….“The Red Cap Kouga wind farm is the first step in developing a substantial proudly South African renewable energy portfolio,” says Tanton.
