Vielleicht hat man sich das aber auch noch einmal anders überlegt, auch wenn hier nicht nur an die Zeilgruppe SMB verkauft wird.

dass sie noch keinen Käufer gefunden haben und es schwer ist zu verkaufen.

Rovion soll ja Werbekunden ermöglichen, selbst ihre Rich Media Ads zu erzeugen und damit Geld zu sparen, was entsprechende Serviceanbieter normalerweise verlangen.
Das klingt zwar sehr interessant, aber es ist denkbar dass es auf Widerstand in der Branche stösst und es nicht so einfach ist, es zu verkaufen.
Rovion hat auf mich immer einen guten Eindruck gemacht und einen interessanten Ansatz verfolgt. Aber wie ich immer sagte, müsste man Branchenexperte für Rich Media Advertising sein, um die Chancen bzw. Attraktivität von Rovion realistisch beurteilen zu können.

Der Rovion-Kauf und die zügige Wiederverkaufsabsicht war einer der Gründe warum ich aus LOCM ausgestiegen bin. Sicherlich muss man auch experimentelle Ansätze fahren und testen, was funktioniert. Aber bei Rovion kann ich die Strategie dahinter bisher nicht nachvollziehen. Kommt mir vor als wissen sie nicht so recht was sie tun bzw. überlegen sich das vorher nicht gründlich genug.

Denn die von den Shortsellern produzierte Kursentwicklung der letzten Zeit suggeriert, dass das Unternehmen bald plete sei - eher das Gegenteil ist aber der Fall.

wird mit den Apps auch Geld verdient, und wenn ja wie viel?

Sehr spät ist Local auf diesen Zug aufgesprungen. Das muss nicht immer schlecht sein, weil man aus den Erfahrungen und Fehlern der Konkurrenz lernen kann.

Aber jetzt wird man einige Quartale abwarten müssen, was Local zum Umsatz mit den Apps berichtet. Ich bleibe weiter außen vor um das mal zu beobachten. Immerhin beißen sich auch Google und Facebook an diesem Thema (Monetisierung Mobile Web durch Werbung) die Zähne aus.

Allerdings müsste noch einiges mehr geschehen, dass sich das langfristig grauenhafte Chartbild wirklich bessert.

Wenn das Erscheinen der Apps die Ursache sein sollte, kann ich mich nur wiederholen: wie werden sich die Apps, so toll es ist, dass sie endlich da sind, auf die Zahlen auswirken?

In direkter Form meines Erachtens gar nicht, da die Leistungen für User natürlich kostenlos sind und Platz für Werbeeinblendungen es auf dem Smartphone-Displays so gut wie nicht vorhanden ist.
Höchstens in indirekter Form als Teil eins Ökosystems, das insbesondere auch die Subscriber-Dienste einschließt, für die die SMB Kunden zahlen. Aber dieses Geschäftsfeld muss noch gewaltig ausgebaut werden, um zum Umsatz entscheidend beizutragen.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 24, 2012-- Local Corporation (NASDAQ: LOCM), a leading online local media company, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company patent number 8,176,082, which covers a system for geographical web search indexing.

Issued on May 8, 2012, the patent describes a geographical web search system that retrieves an initial webpage with a link to a related second webpage. Geographical or local information from the second webpage is detected and associated with the first webpage in order to create an index of webpages associated with the geographical information.

"Consumers increasingly access the Internet via mobile devices in order to research local products and services. This patent advances our ability to deliver more relevant search results for local products and services to the 30 million consumers that touch our network each month,” said Heath Clarke, Local Corporation chairman and CEO. “We have spent years developing our intellectual property in this field, and we’re pleased that this key patent has issued."

Und es wird in diesem Quartal noch sehr viel besser kommen - ein Nur-Verdoppelung bis zum Jahresende ist mein worst case.

Income, wie es sich jetzt für das vierte Quartal abzeichnet, ergibt sich ein KGV von 5,5. Und ich gehe auch davon aus, dass diese $0,09 in 2013 im Schnitt der Quartale nachhaltig sind und wir beim Adjusted Net Income in 2013 irgendwo um 0,40 Dollar herum liegen werden, víelleicht sogar 0,50 Dollar.

im vierten Quartal ergeben. Die Ergebnis im ersten und zweiten Quartal sind uns bekannt, und zwar waren es - 0,01 Dollar im ersten und + 0,02 im zweiten Quartal. Beim dirtten Quartal wurde gerade noch einmal der Guidance von flat bestätigt. Der Guidance für das Gesamtjahr, der während des dritten Quartals von 0.06 Dollar auf 0.10 Dollar angehoben wurde, wurde dabei nicht korrigiert. Aus diesen drei Zahlen für die ersten drei Quartale und dem Gesamtergebnis für 2012 resultieren 0,09 Dollar für das vierte Quartal.
