"Herring has more than 15 years of senior level technology experience and most recently was the founder of daily deals company, Townloop."
"The Townloop Story
Townloop’s mission is to bring you great deals that you can feel good about. We call them deals that make a difference. You see, every time you purchase a deal, 20%–or half of our revenue–goes to local schools and community organizations.
HERE'S HOW IT ALL BEGAN
The idea for Townloop was born out of a conversation that went a little bit like this: What would happen if we brought consumers with buying power and schools or community organizations with real needs together? And what if everyone got something out of it?
You see, here at Townloop, we like to take advantage of the things that make our hometown great. Local restaurants. Fantastic coffeehouses. Bookstores, florists, hotels, spas, shops. We are also parents and people with a shared passion for public education and community involvement. We volunteer. We organize silent auctions and school carnivals. We serve on committees. And just like everyone else, we love a good deal.
By bringing commerce and community together, we think we’ve created a win-win scenario for consumers, schools and businesses. Businesses can offer great deals that support local schools, kids and community without going out of pocket for lump-sum donations. They will also benefit from word of mouth advertising, a loyal, local customer base and an influx of new customers. Parents and consumers can shop with confidence, knowing that their dollars are going right back into their schools and their communities.
Community + Commerce = Deals that make a Difference."
