BALLERUP, Denmark, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LiqTech International Inc., (OTCQX: LIQT), a clean technology company that manufactures and markets highly specialized filtration technologies, today announced that its silicon carbide (SiC) membranes are now National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Certified. LiqTech's membranes were tested and certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 61, which means they are now approved for usage in drinking water systems.
The NSF/ANSI 61 is a performance based standard which ensures that components used in water treatment systems aren't leaching any harmful substances (ie – metals such as lead, chemicals, toxins, etc.). All of LiqTech's SiC membranes product offerings have successfully passed the toxicological testing required by the NSF. In addition, in order to receive this certification, LiqTech's production (facility) had successfully been audited by NSF.
LiqTech's ceramic membranes made of Silicon Carbide (SiC) can be used to replace sand filters, cartridge filters and traditional polymer/ceramic membranes. The potential for SiC membranes in the drinking water production is diverse and the benefits numerous. Some applications are, but not limited to, ground water with the removal of precipitated salts like iron, arsenic and manganese; surface water with the removal of organic suspended solids and humic acid; and sea water with the pre-filtration before reverse osmosis (RO).

(OTCQX: LIQT) ("LiqTech") is pleased to announce that it has received an additional purchase order from RIPE (Huzhou), a Chinese membrane system integrator. The purchase order was the third placed by RIPE in 2013 – significant order sizes of 256 sq. meters, 256 sq. meters and latest 480 sq. meters of membrane product. The three membrane systems ordered were for the same end-user (one of the largest dairy producers in the world) to treat agriculture wastewater.
RIPE, a Chinese engineering firm located in Huzhou, has been developing SiC membrane solutions for Oil & Gas and industrial applications in China since 2011.
Mr Guanghui Li, Managing Director of RIPE remarked, "Our company has been working closely with LiqTech to develop membrane solutions, and 2013 seems to be the year for the commercial breakthrough. (OTCQX: LIQT) ("LiqTech") is pleased to announce that an East-European-based oil company has ordered a containerized (mobile) LiqTech SiC membrane installation. The order represents a value to LiqTech of $300,000 and is expected to be delivered by the end of this year. The end-user placed the order to confirm the properties of the LiqTech SiC membrane technology for various upstream Produced Water applications.
Mr. Finn Helmer, LiqTech CEO, remarked, "The customer's decision to invest in our membrane installation for field evaluation is a strong indicator that they see our SiC membranes as a solution to improve their production setup. Based on our experience, we believe the primary objective of the investigation will be related to re-injection of Produced Water. Conventional technologies can't deliver the required re-injection water quality for certain reservoir formations, but this quality can be achieved with the use of LiqTech membranes. In addition, warrant and option holders will have the ability to exercise only a portion of their existing securities. The board of LiqTech is pleased to announce that the special offer raised $4,051,000 which included the exercise of 100,000 warrants by Aldo Petersen, Chairman of LiqTech, 25,000 stock options by Lasse Andreassen, founder and board member of LiqTech and 50,000 stock options by Soren Degn, CFO of LiqTech. The board noted that the additional capital was an orderly solution to improving the Company's capital structure as well as enhancing the ability of LiqTech to list on an exchange. BALLERUP, Denmark, Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LiqTech International, Inc. (OTCQX: LIQT) ("LiqTech") announced today the results of the special offer to warrant and option holders as disclosed in the September 24th and 25th press releases.
The board of LiqTech is pleased to announce that the special offer raised $4,051,000 which included the exercise of 100,000 warrants by Aldo Petersen, Chairman of LiqTech, 25,000 stock options by Lasse Andreassen, founder and board member of LiqTech and 50,000 stock options by Soren Degn, CFO of LiqTech. The board noted that the additional capital was an orderly solution to improving the Company's capital structure as well as enhancing the ability of LiqTech to list on an exchange. In addition, the new capital gives the Company additional flexibility to generate new orders and sustain future growth.
Mr. Aldo Petersen noted that he was very pleased with the response and that he believes that his and the other investors participation in the special offer is a vote of confidence in their belief in the future success of LiqTech.
