Morgan Stanley lowers optical stocks (JDSU, NT, SCMR, TLAB) by Julie Rannazzisi
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter lowered its view on four telecom equipment/wireline stocks Wednesday. JDS Uniphase (JDSU), Tellabs (TLAB), Sycamore Networks (SCMR) and Nortel Networks (NT) were cut to a "neutral" from "outperform." The brokerage said the industry recovery could be later than Wall Street expects and that it could be as late as the third quarter of 2002. On JDS, Morgan Stanley analysts David Jackson and Alkesh Shah said they believe the stock could be hit harder in the continuing downturn due to optical component inventories and the company's exposure to the passive components market. "We would buy JDS if it fell to $12-$13," the brokerage told clients. On Nortel, Morgan Stanley said service providers are spending less on network builds and pressuring prices at optical networking companies. JDS ended down almost 10 percent Tuesday while Nortel added 0.1 percent, Tellabs fell 3.4 percent and Sycamore lost 7.1 percent.
12-13$ halte ich persönlich für ausgeschlossen.
Da will wohl jemand abstauben, was ???
