If a link is established, French social security will pay for all women with the implants to have them removed, but only fund surgery to replace them in cases where women have had reconstructive surgery, for example after a mastectomy, Berra said.

French health officials said no direct link had been established between the implants and the eight cancer cases. However, the newspaper Liberation reported that the institute's head had already decided to recommend that all 30,000 women have them surgically removed.

The paper added that up to 300,000 women worldwide may have received PIP implants.

A French court is also investigating the death in 2010 of one patient that may be linked to an implant.

PIP implants contained a gel that became lumpy and granular, increasing the risk that the pouch would tear and leak gel into the patient's body.

Alexandra Blachere, head of an advocacy group for PIP implant patients, said all victims should be offered replacements.

"Taking out the implants because they are dangerous is well and good, but we cannot leave women in a state of psychological suffering afterwards, so it's necessary to reimplant, whatever the cost," she told journalists.

More than 2,000 complaints by women wearing PIP implants have been lodged since March 2010.

The United Kingdom’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) yesterday issued interventional procedure guidance for breast reconstruction following cancer treatment (guidance.nice.org.uk/IP/845). It concludes lipomodelling (autologous fat grafting) is a safe and effective option to restore volume and contour defects after breast conserving surgery (lumpectomy). It notes that devices are currently being introduced, which aim to concentrate adipose stem cells and enrich adipose tissue in lipomodelling and encourages the generation of additional outcome data for such procedures.

What it Means to Cytori: The guidance is a positive and important development for Cytori’s pursuit of payment (reimbursement) in the UK for its Celution-based breast reconstruction procedure. The next step in the process is to apply to the Medical Technology Advisory Committee to NICE. This committee provides formal product specific certification of clinical and economic benefit. This process typically takes nine to 12 months. A positive outcome will facilitate use of the Celution® System and related consumables for breast reconstruction across the UK in both private and National Healthcare System hospitals.

Given the UK and NICE’s influence as a leading reference, this effort should help further our progress in the other countries throughout Europe where we are also currently seeking payment or reimbursement. An estimated 12,000 breast reconstruction surgeries are performed each year in the UK alone and 125,000 throughout Europe.

Background: NICE is a government organization that provides guidance on treatments and procedures to the National Health System (NHS), sets quality standards and manages a national database to improve health in the U.K. NICE guidelines are most frequently issued on procedures that are relatively new and NICE is increasingly looked to across Europe as a leading voice in healthcare and economic analysis.

Based on the available evidence and the views of Specialist Advisers, NICE’s Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee reported the procedure is effective, noting that there is no published evidence of increased recurrence, and there are not expected to be any significant issues with imaging interference given current lipomodelling techniques and expert interpretation. NICE guidance strongly influences which procedures and treatments are offered by the U.K.’s National Health System.

This guidance is encouraging since few options are currently available to lumpectomy patients and use of lipomodelling (including cell-enriched) has thus far been limited because of uncertainties among doctors about the procedures’ risks and its potential to interfere with imaging of the breast for cancer surveillance.

Professional breast care organizations in the UK had formally acknowledged this development with the issuance of their own lipomodelling guidelines including a more extensive section on cell-enriched fat transfer.

Glaub, Du bist im falschen Forum. Habe zumindest nichts über CYTX in dem Link gefunden. Bin aber trotzdem sehr zuversichtlich bzgl. CYTX(CYTR IST nicht auf meiner Watchlist).

Dieser Biowert schwappt schon einige Zeit um die $0,40 (0,30€) herum,
komisch dass sich in D niemand dafür interessiert, man zockt doch
sonst weltmeisterlich in US Biowerten herum. Dabei unterscheidet sich
Cytori kaum von den scheinbar so populären Titeln wie Aeterna und anderen.
Der Chartverlauf dieser Aktien ähnelt denen von AEZS.
Hier ging es knapp unter 0,40$ (0,30€) die Umsätze in USA sind nicht ohne.

Und glaube, das wir die tiefstkurse gesehen habe. Erwarte eine starke Gegenbewegung...denn Cash ist ja noch mit Sicherheit ein Jahr vorhanden. Der Kursrutsch war zu krass!

für den Ausverkauf dieser Aktie und woher bekomme ich News oder Infos ??

Als erstes ist mit Sicherheit der immer weiter fallende Umsatz zu nennen. Die Liquidität ist auch nicht so toll, war aber schon mal schlechter. Zur zeit knapp über 20 Millionen $! Ich finde den Absturz auch viel zu hoch. Habe vor nicht 1 jahr welche gekauft für 2,50€ u jetzt für 0,35€. In anderen Foren sagt man das der Kurs manipuliert werden würde. Bin aber nicht so ganz davon überzeugt. Alle wichtigen Infos kannst du dir auf der Homepage cytori.com abrufen u lies dir mal bitte das Interview mit den Vorständen durch. Ist sehr interessant. Vielleicht kaufe ich nochmal nach...

Habe heute nachgelegt und denke es gibt 2 Möglichkeiten : entweder wird Cytori bald insolvent sein dann wird der Kurs vielleicht auf 0,20€ oder noch tiefer stehen. Man hat immerhin einen Verlustvortrag von über 300 Millionen $ oder es gibt eine starke Gegenbewegung und wir werden bald wieder Kurse über 1 € sehen. U denkt daran vor 1 Jahr hat Lorem Vascular 8 Millionen Aktien gekauft für 3 $ pro Aktie. Daher glaube ich doch stark an Möglichkeit Nr. 2!!!

gekauft hat, kann man ihn nur bedauern, zeugt deutlich von Fehleinschätzung.

Wir werden sehen u ich bin gespannt ob am 4. Dez. was passiert...

Geht es stark nach oben, jede Wette. U die Nachricht mit Japan war doch ganz ok! Wenn jetzt der Verlust noch verringert wird ist alles gut.

Und morgen werde ich nachkaufen. Mein Gefühl sagt mir das es noch viel weiter nach oben gehen wird! Es werden bald mit Sicherheit noch weitere News folgen und dann wird der Kurs bestimmt nicht mehr bei 0,40€ stehen. Bin jetzt 10'/. Im Plus und das ist erst der Anfang. Ihr werdet euch noch ärgern...Time will tell, ob ich recht habe!
