Why is there a minimum for withdrawals?
In highly active cryptocurrency wallets such as Bitfinex's hot wallets, the number of inputs coming in (deposits) and going out (withdrawals) is enormous. In times of high activity, many small wallet inputs and outputs cause technical delays and users have to wait longer to receive withdrawals. This problem is much worse for smaller deposits and withdrawals.
Requiring a minimum amount for withdrawals encourages users to combine multiple smaller withdrawals into fewer, larger withdrawals. This allows Bitfinex to process requests more efficiently, and all users can enjoy faster service.
Please notice that the minimum withdrawal amounts may change as platform activity fluctuates. Our goal is to provide the best service possible for the most users.
Small Balances
In some cases, a user may not have a large enough balance to meet the minimum withdrawal amount. In the coming days a special tool will be introduced that can help users withdrawal in these scenarios. Do not contact support. Please check back here in one week for more information.
