News March 5American Dairy: a 75% Gainer
One of the companies featured in the special report (click here for your copy) is American Dairy and as you can see above, it's already giving big returns to investors. We picked it up in late 2006 knowing it had a lot of potential for 2007.
American Dairy (NYSE: ADY) is a Chinese dairy processor riding the wave of the burgeoning growth in the Chinese middle class (currently 300 million people) and government mandates encouraging greater consumption of milk and other dairy products.
The trend in dairy consumption in China is rising and outstripping supply, and American Dairy is set to capitalize on the increasing demand. Key to the company's growth strategy in expanding its customer base is selling fluid milk products in no-return containers and increasing sales of higher margin solid milk products like yogurt and cheese.
We like American Dairy for five primary reasons:
Increasing revenue: Q3 2006 revenue increased 129% over Q3 2005 revenue.
Increasing net income: Q3 2006 net income increased 154% over Q3 2005 net income.
Continued production capacity expansion: plans for increasing production to over 1,700 tonnes per day by 2009 from the current 720 tonnes of liquid milk per day.
Large market potential: average Chinese citizen currently consumes only 1/5 th the amount of the world average, but every day that gap is closing and American Dairy is leading the way.
Overall industry growth: current estimates are that the dairy industry is growing at an amazing 25% per year
