Artes Medical plans to restructure but will still expand its ArteFill sales force
SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Medical technology company Artes Medical Inc. said Friday it is restructuring in an effort to reduce costs in line with expected revenue.
The company said the goal is to "re-align" its overall cost structure toward its prior 2008 revenue guidance of $13 million to $16 million. Meanwhile, it will continue expanding its sales force for the injectable implant ArteFill, which is used as a wrinkle treatment.
Artes said it believes it has enough cash, along with anticipated ArteFill sales, to fund the company through the first quarter of 2009.
