Zenn Motor Company Inc. is engaged in the development, assembly and distribution of electric vehicles and drive trains. The Company assembles and distributes a low speed electric vehicle called the Zero Emission, No Noise (ZENN). This class of vehicle is referred to as neighbourhood electric vehicle (NEV) and low speed vehicle (LSV). The Company’s production model for the ZENN involves purchasing prefabricated host vehicles (gliders) and fitting the gilders with an integrated fully electric drive train mostly using commercially available electric components, such as batteries, electric motors and transmissions. The gliders are manufactured in Europe by Microcar S.A.S. (Microcar) and supplied to the Company substantially pre-assembled. The Microcar glider is based on the internal combustion engine (ICE) powered Microcar MC2. During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2007 (fiscal 2007), it developed an air conditioning system for use in the ZENN LSV.
