Munich/London, 24 November 2006 – Metrodome, TV-Loonland’s UK subsidiary,
an audio-visual entertainment company, which focuses principally on the
sale and distribution of films through cinema and home entertainment
channels is pleased to announce that it will be attending the German Equity
Forum (Eigenkapitalforum) event in Frankfurt on Monady 27th November 2006.
Following the recent successful private placement fundraising, which took
place in September 2006, and the November 2006 listing on the Frankfurt
Stock Exchange, Metrodome is attending the above German Equity Forum event
with a view to supporting it’s new German shareholder base.
At this event, Metrodome will be detailing that it expects significant
growth over the next two years as a result of this new investment.
Whilst the financial year to 31 December 2006 will result in a loss, as was
always predicted, the Company’s management is targeting an EPS range for
2007 of 0.7 to 1.0 Euro Cents and 1.3 to 2.2 Euro Cents for 2008.
This positive targeting is the result of the change in strategy at
Metrodome which has been implemented by it’s majority shareholder TV
Loonland AG, together with the Company’s new management headed by Peter
Urie, who was appointed Chief Executive in September 2006.
The new management has shifted the Company’s strategy, away from the
previous management’s approach of high-risk short-term deals, in favour of
a longer-term strategy and profitable business model. They intend to effect
this change by building a balanced product portfolio, through the
acquisition of selected premium film rights and libraries for DVD
exploitation.
At the end of September 2006, Metrodome successfully raised 2.9 Mio.Euro by
way of a finance package including a Private Placement and a loan
conversion by TVL. The funds received from the Placing in which Simon
Flamank and Peter Urie both participated, allow for the operational
development of the business to be pushed ahead. This includes establishing
the recently launched in-house budget DVD labels 'In2Film' for mainstream
titles and 'Mini Metro' for children’s home entertainment titles.
The Company has already acquired an impressive slate of films for release
(in the UK) in 2007 which include: the hit psychological horror film THEM
and is due for UK theatrical release on 26th January; the French smash hit
and Oscar contending war epic DAYS OF GLORY ('Indigenes'), out on 30th
March, and the tender, life affirming love story, AWAY FROM HER, starring
Academy Award winner Julie Christie, out on 27th April. In addition,
Metrodome expects to announce further strong theatrical titles to it’s 2007
slate in the near future. All new titles will be in line with Metrodome’s
improved approach of acquiring new titles, which the new management
assesses to be top end and high quality independent films.
The management will discuss the new Metrodome business model with analysts
and shareholders at the German Equity Forum detailed above and the Small
and Mid Cap Conference in Munich on 6th December 2006.
