Thompson Creek Metals Company, Inc. (NYSE:TC) soared 7.75% to $15.86 and made a new 52-week high of $15.89 on very unusual volume. There are chatters that that the company could be a takeover target. Over the past one year, the stock has climbed over 35%. Call Options activities have jumped today with Jan 16 with the most active contract with 837 contracts and open interest of 557. The last traded price was $1.76.

na gestern war Kanada zu und an der Nyse ging es zu stark up. Da war bzw. ist erstmal ein GAP zu schließen.

Hätte nix gegen einen Kurs unter 11, damit ich die gestern verkauften Anteile wieder günstiger ins Depot legen kann...

Naja wir werden sehen.

"Good call Mike. Thompson Creek mines molybdenum, gold, and copper and is actually a profitable company. The stock currently trades with a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 10.8 and analysts expect sales and earnings growth to come in at 40% and 20% in 2011.
Since China has reclassified molybdenum as a "national mining resource" it's likely that Thompson Creek will continue to grow revenue and earnings at a nice clip. The stock has enjoyed a run along with other mining stocks, but isn't as stretched as some of the more speculative names."

TC opened the day at $14.67, it made an intraday low of $14.65 and an intraday high of $15.33.
