MMRGlobal Wins Overall Best Independent Software

15.02.11 15:35
MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCBB: MMRF) today announced that it was named Kodak's Overall Best Independent Software Vendor for 2010 at the Kodak Americas Region Document Imaging Channel Awards dinner last night in Orlando, Florida. The Company also announced it had reached an understanding with Kodak on a private label equipment purchase agreement which represents more than 10 million dollars in MMRPro system sales over the next 15 months. The agreement, which MMR plans on signing prior to the HIMSS Conference next week, will call for deliveries to begin as soon as April 2011.

Prior to the surprise announcement of being named Best Independent Software Vendor, MMRGlobal also received the award as Kodak's Overall Best Independent Software Vendor for a Healthcare Application for its MMRPro solution. Brian K. Bagan, Director, Business Development, Document Imaging, United States and Canada, Kodak's Business Solutions and Services Group, presented the two awards to MMRGlobal Chairman and CEO Robert H. Lorsch. Also on stage was Richard M. Lagani, MMRGlobal Executive Vice President, who recently joined the Company after having spent the last 14 years with Chartis Insurance (formerly AIG).

Mr. Lorsch said, "Yesterday was a very special day highlighted by learning and network opportunities that will bring significant value to MMRGlobal. We are proud that Kodak invited us to join this high level sales meeting of more than 800 participants from the United States, Canada and Latin America. I appreciate Kodak making MMR feel at home in Orlando during Grammy Night in Los Angeles. We spent the day meeting with many larger resellers and distributors with regard to future sales of MMRPro. We value our relationship with Kodak and look forward to it continuing for many years to come."

5 rising trends in health care

15.02.11 17:23
Published: Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 8:00 AM

Electronic health records

The thick manila folder that follows a patient into the exam room is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Electronic health records, in which patients' medical history, medications, lab work, recent tests and more are stored on computer, are on the rise.

"The No. 1 benefit of electronic records is patient safety. It puts more information immediately at the doctor's fingertips so better decisions about care can be made," said Richard Schreiber, chief medical informatics officer at Holy Spirit Health System.

Other benefits include reducing duplicate testing, better knowledge of patient medications and the elimination of the need for deciphering physician handwriting, Schreiber said.

If patients in PinnacleHealth's medical home are seen at another PinnacleHealth site, having access to an electronic record can provide better coordinated care, Zook said.

Head Concierge

18.02.11 20:29
MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCBB: MMRF) today announced that Chairman and CEO Robert H. Lorsch added two more words to his title of Chairman and CEO. They are "Head Concierge." The purpose of the change in title is to underscore the Company's commitment to support concierge medicine. Concierge medicine is proving to represent the future of healthcare in many communities, particularly when it comes to the survival of the small family group practice. The Company has launched an educational effort and a campaign to expand the use of its Internet-based MMRPro product and service to play a more important role in enhanced patient communication, a necessary tool to any successful concierge medical program. This will be on display at the 2011 HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition February 20-24 in Orlando, Fl.

The Company already incorporates an integrated universal patient portal into its MMRPro proprietary, patented end-to-end document management and imaging solution for healthcare professionals. The system is invaluable in ensuring real-time connectivity with patients. MMR also offers The MMRPro Stimulus Program, which can easily cover the costs of an MMRPro system. In addition, physician groups of two doctors or more can generate more than $50,000 in stimulus per year, every year, by the end of the product's three-year license agreement. And that amount can continue to grow year-over-year.

"We came to HIMSS this year to make the point that we care about physicians and the future of healthcare," said Lorsch. "We recognize that doctors are being squeezed by declining reimbursements, increased regulations and government intervention, skyrocketing malpractice rates and higher operating costs. As a result, many are exploring charging patients concierge medicine fees to offset the high cost of delivering the services they went to medical school to deliver. When was the last time a doctor came by your house at eight in the evening to check on you? By enabling a physician to take fewer patients and spend more quality time with them, concierge medicine appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel."

Setting the stage for concierge medicine at HIMSS, MMR's booth #3937 will be transformed into a true hospitality suite for demonstrations of MMRPro along with the Company's patient-centric MyMedicalRecords Personal Health Record. Attendees will be made to feel like they have stepped into a hotel lobby complete with a complimentary copy of "MMRGlobal Today." MMR will also showcase the latest in document imaging technology with senior executives of Kodak, including the newest version of the proprietary MMRPro system which is being built by Kodak for MMRGlobal.

Attendees leaving their name at the MyMedicalRecords booth can participate in daily drawings to win a Kodak camera with a Grand Prize drawing for two tickets to attend this year's Daytime Emmy® Awards courtesy of Executive Producers David McKenzie of Associated Television International and Bob Lorsch. The Awards are planned for late June and will be televised live from Las Vegas on the CBS Television Network. In addition to the show tickets, the Grand Prize winner will receive round-trip airfare to Las Vegas from any U.S. city, hotel accommodations, and access to the Celebrity VIP After-Party.

MMRGlobal and Kodak Launch MMRPro 550 at HIMSS 201

21.02.11 05:48
MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCBB: MMRF) ("MMR") today announced it will begin shipping the Company's MMRPro 550 document imaging and management solution starting in April. Joined by executives from Kodak, the system is being demonstrated in the MMR booth #3937 at HIMSS 2011. The MMRPro 550 uses a proprietary customized interface on the new Kodak Scan Station 550.

MMRGlobal Spokesperson Kira Reed, television host and entertainment reporter for the Daytime Emmy Awards, which is being co-executive produced by MMR Chairman and CEO Robert H. Lorsch and Associated Television International CEO David McKenzie, is also at MMR's HIMSS booth. She appears as the Company's spokesperson in the new MMRPro video, which details the system's ease-of-use, its unique barcode forms technology, system security and cost benefits, including stimulus money payable to physicians under the MMRPro Stimulus Program. Attendees visiting MMR's booth at the show will have a chance to win two tickets to the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards in Las Vegas this June as VIP guests, which includes limousine pickup, hotel accommodation, backstage passes and access to the Celebrity After-Party where they will be able to meet the stars.

The MMRPro 550 system (www.mmrprovideos.com) is powered by Kodak's Scan Station 550 and incorporates the power of Kodak Capture Pro Software to enhance direct connection to MMRPro Software. MMRPro's secure, Web-based document management and imaging solution enables easy capture and access to paper-based patient documents and charts with the utmost security critical to healthcare professionals and their patients. Also on display at HIMSS is the new KODAK i4600 Series Scanner which also runs MMRPro at lightning speeds of up to 120 pages per minute.

"Using MMRPro today makes it easier for physicians to ultimately transition to a full-blown certified EMR system," said Lorsch. "This helps doctors qualify for stimulus dollars from the government and, additionally, from MMR's proprietary stimulus program, which can reward physicians with payments that could be far in excess of the government's stimulus program. The new 550 system employs a unique pre-printed barcode technology that generates patient form packets, which makes the control and management of documents seamless and secure. The MMRPro solution directly addresses the needs of small medical offices, group practices, surgery centers and hospitals that rely heavily on using transactions-based processes and forms, including patient billing, prescription data, and medical charts."

MMRPro also includes an e-prescribing module and an integrated patient portal, enabling patients to have timely access to their personal health information through MyMedicalRecords' secure personal health records technology (www.mymedicalrecords.com). Using MMRPatientView.com, patients can quickly and conveniently see their health information and can also upgrade to a full-featured MyMedicalRecords account. Physicians receive a percentage of revenue from patient upgrades under the MMRPro Stimulus Program.

The transactional Kodak Scan Station 550 features a customized solution using the capture and output capabilities found in Kodak Capture Pro Software, including barcodes, OCR, MICR and others. The new scanner incorporates an intuitive GUI touch panel allowing users to work seamlessly with the MMRPro Software, enabling the user to scan patient-related healthcare documents directly into MMRPro with the push of a single button. The MMRPro Software also allows updates for patient files via fax, email or telephone messages, through secure, staff-based permissions.

Kodak products are backed by KODAK Service and Support, which is made up of more than 3,000 professionals reaching more than 120 countries. It is a leading multi-vendor integrated services provider, delivering consulting, installation, maintenance and support services for the commercial printing, graphic communications, document imaging, data storage, and retail industries. KODAK Service and Support professionals are uniquely qualified to provide services that control costs, maximize productivity, and minimize business risk.

MMRGlobal Launches Unique Concierge

MMRGlobal Launches Unique Concierge Medicine Physician-Patient Electronic Point-of-Sales System

02/22 08:05 AM

ORLANDO, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/22/11 -- MMRGlobal, Inc. (MMRF:$0.07,00$0.00,000.00%) today announced that it is introducing an electronic point-of-sale system for physician offices, healthcare professionals and hospital systems. The system will deliver targeted messaging to physicians on the features and benefits of MMRPro, specifically the MMRPro Stimulus Program, and tips on providing Concierge Medicine.

The MMRPro Stimulus Program is designed to pay substantially more money to physicians over a period of three years than the $44,000 over five years of government stimulus. The system will also continually educate physicians on the Company's suite of Internet-based end-to-end document scanning and imaging solutions for both healthcare professionals and patients.

Additionally, the displays are designed to educate patients on the importance of having a Personal Health Record, encourage them to access the MMRPatientView portal and upgrade to a full-featured MyMedicalRecords PHR account.

"One of our most significant challenges is to get patients to upgrade from an MMRPatientView account to a revenue-generating, feature-rich MyMedicalRecords account," said Robert H. Lorsch, Chairman and CEO of MMRGlobal, Inc. (MMRF:$0.07,00$0.00,000.00%)

"This display program will enable MMR, in conjunction with the physician, to serve images that merchandise our products at the physician's office, while offering an interactive social entertainment program for patients that is created by the physician's office."

The point-of-sale displays are already operating in full swing at MMRGlobal's (MMRF:$0.07,00$0.00,000.00%) Concierge Medicine booth #3937 at HIMSS, the largest health IT conference in the U.S., currently running through Thursday in Orlando, FL. The displays are manufactured under a strategic alliance with CEIVA Logic to help launch their products in the medical industry and selected other markets.

MMR plans to offer the point-of-sales electronic frames to doctors' offices as an integral part of its sales, education and training for MMRPro. The displays enable MMR to stream company messaging in conjunction with patient and physician photos and service offerings throughout the day.

Doctors have options to upload their own content while patients are able to randomly send photos directly into their doctor's office to play on the frames. The unit can also receive X-rays and other images to be viewed by the physician anywhere in a wireless office. The displays will also be featured in high-volume practice clinics to sell the MyMedicalRecords Personal Health Record direct to consumers.

We Have Given Up Our Whole Life To Be The Person We Are Now. Was It Worth It?
Posted by Robert Lorsch | Filed under Posts by Robert Lorsch

In my case, Yes!

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives, and to say mine is exciting is an understatement. Today, we are in the final day of the HIMSS Conference. It’s 2AM and I finished the day spending a few minutes with Wil Yu, from the National Coordinators office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Everyone from medicine, government and technology is here. The convention floor reminds me of the first COMDEX convention when I represented Microsoft and Roland Hanson and he and I launched the “Mouse.”(www.thehmccompany.com/rowland.html) Roland is now a member of the MMRGlobal Board of Advisors. There is no question of the importance of Health IT on the world stage when the two highest ranking officials in health care, The Honorable Kathleen Sebelius, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services and David Blumenthal, MD, MPP, National Coordinator for the Health Information Technology Department of Health and Human Services, join together to make the closing keynote remarks at HIMSS.

As I get ready for the third and final day of the show, I will go straight from the show to the airport for a flight to Boston. Then tomorrow, I will host at least thirty-five institutional investors at our second Investor Roadshow.

Until I leave the show, I will also continue to use every available moment meeting with investment bankers and other strategic partners about numerous opportunities, including Dell, Microsoft, multiple wireline and wireless carriers, and many others, and Google, of course.

The first two days of our HIMSS adventure has been nothing short of phenomenal and absolutely packed (www.himssconference.org). Our booth is directly across the hall from Google Health. As a result, we are seeing everybody who is anybody. In fact, visit www.mmrglobaltoday.com and see pictures of the action for yourself.

Ralph, AJ, Joy, Eric and Muhammad are working the trade show floor with support from Rich Lagani, Sunil, Kira and I, demonstrating MMRPro and our Personal Health Records products and services. Kira is even helping manage the traffic flow in the booth. And if you have not seen it, the new MMRPro video is getting great reviews. Shorter and more comprehensive than before, you can watch it at www.mmrprovideos.com The Kodak team of Jim, Rich, Jody, Megan and Bryan are also demonstrating Pro and the latest in MMRPro advanced high speed scanning capability. If you were a fly buzzing around our HIMSS booth you would be blown away by “the action.”

Meanwhile Rich Lagani is spending his time meeting with health insurers and financial institutions who are interested in us based on the Company’s existing relationship with Chartis. These business development opportunities take time; however, they can lead to gigantic results.

Sunil has walked at least 100 miles meeting with every possible strategic partner CTO at the show, from Microsoft to McKesson, to Apple, to Intel and Lucent, to name a very, very, very few. Combining MMR and Kodak’s leading edge technology as a back end in support of all these major players in health IT helps insure that our advertising slogan, “The Future of Your Health at Work Today,” stays “at Work” tomorrow.

Sunil, Ralph, Rich and I have also all been meeting with middleware providers who already support thousands of hospitals looking for a robust PHR. This is a very big opportunity. All of these developers and providers represent opportunities for MMR to offer its Personal Health Record to fulfill “meaningful use,” as is required for Personal Health Records, into their existing hospital clients where they control the future of that hospital’s care.

Attendees are feeling the heat from the mandate to offer Personal Health Records by 2014. And the lines around strategic opportunities are getting brighter. 4medica, provider of the industry’s leading cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) lab results and clinical integration platform, announced at the show that they are providing 27,000 providers with access to more than 30 million unique electronic lab samples and patient records.

Visitors this year are here to buy, not just look. In fact, Spalding Surgical showed up and bought a second MMRPro system, and based on that, another surgery center bought one right at the show.

Oleg Bess, 4 Medica CEO, was my neighbor at www.LorschLand.com for ten years. Who knows what a good neighbor policy could bring to these two emerging growth companies.

So was it worth the read?

Allow the World to Live as It Chooses, and Allow Yourself to Live as You Choose.
Posted by Robert Lorsch | Filed under Posts by Robert Lorsch

After nearly 14 days of straight travel, I have been asking myself a lot of personal questions. Where do I live? Where am I going? What am I doing? It’s amazing how the answers change almost daily. Add that to the retrospective that comes with facing another birthday in less than two weeks and I sometimes wonder why I chose the way I live my life. However, the point is I get to choose it. And I get to follow the inner voice that allows me to keep placing one foot in front of the other. Living and “loving” one’s life keeps people young. I am not sure what it would be like to not have such an active business life.

Today’s answers feel right; I like what I do, I love my wife, I love my life, I love my home, I love Charlie Brown, Mindy, Meatball, Diego, Priscilla and Momma Kitty, I love my best friends and I love my job. They say keeping the mind stimulated keeps one vibrant and young. I guess that’s the trick to my 18-hour days, yoga lifestyle and my fabulous relationship with Kira.

Every day I get to feel the excitement that comes with being CEO of a company that I get to build in a way that I believe is best for the employees and investors who believe in me and MMRGlobal (OTC: MMRF).

No team is successful unless they are all pulling in the same direction; however to pull in the same direction, the team needs to know the playbook. Unfortunately, the lawyers keep me from sharing the inside scoop and what keeps this “Energizer Bunny” going, but I can share the big picture from the last several weeks.

I have been to Orlando twice in the past two weeks. The first trip was to attend invitation-only key customer sales meetings as a guest of Kodak, where we negotiated our annual purchase commitments to cover the next 15 months of MMRPro sales. We also were the only customer to receive two sales awards for the past year. blog.mmrglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/...se-2-14-2011.pdf Then it was back to Los Angeles for three days to put the finishing touches on our HIMSS adventure.

Then once more on a plane to Orlando, where at HIMSS we networked for eighteen-hour days with more than 30,000 healthcare professionals taking advantage of the explosive world of health information technology. From Lucent to Microsoft and Google, we shared MMRPro solutions and our MyMedicalRecords Personal Health Record with more than 180 qualified distribution partners.

After the show, I spent two days in Boston. On the first day, Sunil and I made investor presentations to more than 30 individuals and small cap institutional investors. Then on Friday, we spent the day with a document distribution company we met at HIMSS. They provide document distribution systems for more than six hundred hospital systems.

Before I left Boston we agreed to initiate beta testing of a deployment program to offer MMR Personal Health Records to a select group of this company’s clients. Watch for this very exciting announcement as we begin this stimulating test program, which for the first time takes us directly into hospitals from an existing third party vendor.

Saturday, Kira and I took the train to NY, where I caught up on nearly a thousand emails dealing with everything philanthropic, personal, and mostly MMR business.

Yesterday, I met a second HIMSS lead. This company is a research purchasing syndicate that matches their 1200 hospital-network with selected vendors in private regional trade shows. After nearly three hours together we agreed to begin the process of having them introduce our Personal Health Record services and, in particular, the MMR Stimulus Program to their customers, making it the second time in two days we have established working relationships that can access hospitals through third party vendors. Meanwhile, Richard Lagani was in Canada, where he was working on an expansion of Chartis domestic sales in North America.

I used the rest of yesterday afternoon at meetings with Chartis Global Marine and Energy. I lost an hour when I had to shut off my Blackberry because Kira and I were VIP guests of CBS (our daytime Emmy Awards partner) at the Late Show with David Letterman. Be sure to watch this Thursday; Charlie Sheen gags run through the entire hour of Dave with his guest, the great Robin Williams. Then it was back to the hotel for more emails and a business dinner.

Today I left at 7 am EST on my way to Verizon headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. This is where the lawyers tell me I have to be quiet; however, this is the first day of the most exciting days of the rest of my life.

Tonight I will take a redeye home excited about the things that are happening around me and looking forward to being home with Kira, Charlie, Mindy, Meatball, Diego, Priscilla and Momma Kitty.
