Der Wimax-Boom wird kommen, soviel steht bereits jetzt fest, allmählicher Beginn in der 2.Jahreshälfte 2005, und in grösserem Styl dann ab 2006.
Deshalb sollte man sich bereits jetzt damit beginnen Positionen aufzubauen, um den Start nicht zu verpassen.
Alvarion ist trotz Umsatzwarnung für das 2.Quartal 2005 bereits am Break-Even, d.h. sogar ohne den Wimax-Hype daran profitabel zu arbeiten.
Mit siemens und Alcatel hat die Firma 2 starke Kooperationspartner welche den Vertrieb der Produkte mittragen.
Durch die Gewinnwarnung fiel der Wert von ca.11,5 Dollar auf nun aktuell ca.9,57 Dollar, d.h. meiner Meinung ist der Wert nach unten abgesichert (ausser eventueller RÜcksetzer in den unteren 9 Dollarbereich müsste die Gewinnwarnung verdaut sein)und
da die Börse der Zeit im voraus ist, müsste demnach die Aktie Ende des Sommerloches an Fahrt Gewinnen in Hinblick auf das kommende Wimax.
Ich bin bereits mit einer kleinen Position eingedeckt, weitere Käufe habe ich vorgesehen um diesen vorausschaubaren TRend nicht zu verpassen, meiner Meinung nach ist mit diesem Wert für einen Anleger mit Langzeittaktik das Risiko aktuell praktisch Null, deshalb rate ich allen diesen Wert zu kaufen, bzw. nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren.
12 Monate Target ist meier Meinung nach 20 Dollar.

nicht umsonst wird der Wimax-Ausschuss von einem ALVR-Vertreter geführt....das sagt genug aus...und noch ein Leckerbissen...ALVR ist Marktführer mit ca.30% Marktanteil... kauft diese Aktie, legt sie beiseite und in 1-2 Jahren verkauft ihr sie mit min.200 % Gewinn....und dies mit einem minimalen Restrisiko....

Standard & Poors gibt für ALVARION ein 5 Sterne Rating, vergleichbar mit einem Strong Buy Rating...... dieses Investment ist gleichzeitig ein extrem sicheres und extrem performantes Investment....

ich dagegen rate dir den Nasdaq-Chart anzuschauen und ebenfalls diese Aktie an der Nasdaq zu kaufen....Kürzel : ALVR
In Deutschland ist das Interresse und das Handelsvolumen zu gering.... der deutsche Chart ist nicht gerade einladend zum Kaufen ;-))
Für die die genügend Cash investiren möchten in den kommenden Wimax-Hype kann ich nur eins raten.....50% auf ALVR und 50% auf AIRN (Airspan)
Falls eine dieser Aktien 200% erzielt...und dies wird der Fall sein, dann kann die anderen sogar Konkurs machen, der Gewinn wird immer noch bei min.50% liegen.
Schau dir das Papier mal in den USA an....Yahoo.com...dann Finance...und dann ALVR Stock....

This means that WiMAX is still the most highly touted wireless technology of today. WiMAX is getting hot right now: Which will be the first product to be certified? Who will gain the race for the first real WiMAX deployment?

d.h. bis 2008 beträgt der potentielle Wimax-Markt ca. 29 Milliarden Dollar ..... ALVR ist der Marktführer für drahtlosen Datentransport mit ca.30% Marktanteil und mit Sicherheit ein kommender führender Wimax-Fabrikant...... ihr könnt selbst den kommenden Marktwert von Alvarion ausrechnen.....einfach riesig

Siemens, Alcatel, Nokia...und anderen.....kein anderer reinrassiger Wimax-Stock verfügt über diese Vielzahl und Qualität von Vertriebs- und Kooperationspartner....alleine dieser Umstand müsste genügen die Qualität von ALVARION zu begreifen...Wimax wird der nächste Hightech-Boom werden und alle grossen Firmen stehen am Start....weshalb die obengenannten Firmen hinter Alvarion....???????
Aus einem einzigen Grunde..ALVARION ist für diese Firmen die beste Wahl !!!!!!!!!
Deshalb führt meiner Meinung nach kein Weg an ALVARION Vorbei wenn man in Wimax investieren möchte.

In 2004, Telkom SA Limited, has placed additional orders for MGW™ equipment to complete a countrywide, wireless network infrastructure project initiated in 2003. Kenya Data Networks Ltd. INTEL und Telecomanbieter ORANGE haben einen Test während der Tour de France ausgeführt....und zwar mit Pre-Wimax-Ausrüstung von ALVARION wurde das gesamte Pressezentrum der Etape von Pau ausgerüstet und es klappte hervorragend..und ohne das sonst notwendige Verlegen und Anschliessen von hunderten von Kabeln....alle Journalisten waren erfreud über das hervorragende Funktionieren der drahtlosen Datenübertragung einschl. vorher nie gekanter Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit.......

PARIS -- Intel Corporation and France Telecom / Orange have partnered to test pre-WiMAX broadband wireless technology during the Tour de France in Pau on July 18th. Hundreds of international journalists and other accredited persons enjoyed quick and easy Internet access via a WiFi-hotspot linked to a WiMAX backhaul. This solution provided low-cost, broadband Internet connections to the heart of the press room, from which news was sent out to editorial offices across the world. Broadband symmetric connections enabled quicker and easier uploads compared to DSL allowing the press to send multi-media-rich information faster and more efficiently.

For each new stage of the Tour de France, France Telecom / Orange staff were tasked with installing all of the technical equipment overnight at each of the new venues. WiMAX brings portability and fast installation (within 1 hour) without disruptive laying of cables saving a lot of time for the technical staff.

The WiMAX trial, enabled journalists to connect to the internet via a “hotspot on the road”. The Intel-based pre-WiMAX equipment from Alvarion brought broadband wireless access to the 450 journalists following the Tour de France, through a France Telecom / Orange WiFi hotspot verified on the Intel Centrino mobile technology.

“The collaboration between Intel and France Telecom / Orange demonstrates new potential for broadband wireless access. We are very happy with the results of the trial serving the heart of the Tour de France information center and demonstrating that WiMAX is real.” said Gilles Karolkowski, WiMAX Marketing Manager Intel.

CHIP GIANT INTEL has copulated with phone company France Telecom, also known as Orange, to test pre-WiMAX wireless broadband technology during the Tour de France. Cheap high speed internet was made available to hacks attending the Tour de France stages thanks to a WiFi hotspot linked up to a WiMAX backhaul.
Orange staff were in charge of setting up all of the techy equipment overnight at each of the stages, which is apparently not a problem thanks to the Intel-based WiMAX equipment supposedly being easy to cart about and taking only an hour (or less) to install.

The WiMAX trial in Pau has been considered a success by both companies and will probably be used again on the next Tour de France. Gilles Karolkowski, WiMAX marketing manager at Intel said that she's "very happy" with the trial results, and that the Intel / Orange collaboration "demonstrates new potential for broadband wireless access."

Intel und die France Télécom haben auf der Tour der France einen Test mit der Drahtlos-Technologie Wimax durchgeführt. Am 18. Juli wurde der Datenverkehr aus dem Pressezentrum in derr Stadt Pau mit Hilfe von Wimax ins Internet eingespeist.
"Die Zusammenarbeit von Intel und France Télécom zeigt die neuen Möglichkeiten für drahtlose Breitbandtechnologie auf. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit den Ergebnissen des Wimax-Piloten für die Informationszentrale der Tour de France. Dieser Pilot zeigt, dass Wimax eine reale und funktionierende Technik ist", so Gilles Karolkowski, Marketing Manager bei Intel.

Für die Berichterstattung der Journalisten zur Tour de France steht France Télécom beziehungsweise deren Tochtergesellschaft Orange jeden Tag vor der Aufgabe, über Nacht die gesamte Telekommunikations-Infrastruktur am nächsten Etappenziel aufzubauen. Da für Wimax keine Verkabelung nötig ist, sei das Breitbandnetz innerhalb einer Stunde einsatzbereit.

Bei dem Test kam eine 802.16-2004-standardkonforme Ausrüstung von Alvarion mit Intel-Komponenten zum Einsatz. Da die Interoperabilitätstests noch nicht abgeschlossen sind, wurde diese vom Wimax-Forum noch nicht zertifiziert.

Zahlreiche US-Provider bekräftigen auf der Supercomm 2005 ihr Engagement

Nachdem das Interesse an Wimax zuletzt etwas abgekühlt war, haben auf der derzeit in Chicago stattfindenden Kommunikationsmesse Supercomm 2005 einige Provider weitere Tests mit der Technologie bekannt gegeben. Wimax wurde hauptsächlich zur Überbrückung der letzten Meile entwickelt, um Regionen ohne geeignete Kabel-Infrastruktur mit Breitband-Internet zu versorgen.  

Keith Horn von Fujitsu Microelectronics vertrat die Einschätzung, dass Wimax im Jahr 2005 der Durchbruch schaffen wird. In letzter Zeit wurde Wimax von den Problemen geplagt, mit denen viele neue Technologien zu kämpfen haben, angefangen von technischen Schwierigkeiten bis hin zur Standardisierung. Erst im Januar wurden die Tests der Interoperabilität des Equipments um ein halbes Jahr nach hinten verlegt.

Das trotzdem wiedererwachte Interesse ist zum Teil sicherlich auch auf den Chipriesen Intel zurückzuführen, der im April einen Wimax-Chip eingeführt und in Aussicht gestellt hat, ab 2007 solche Komponenten in PCs einzubauen.

Der US-Telekommunikationskonzern Bell South will Teile von Georgia mit Wimax abdecken und AT&T plant, seine Testläufe auf zwei weitere Städte auszudehnen. Zudem testet das Unternehmen eine Voice over Wimax-Funktion. Die Deutsche Telekom hat angekündigt, am 1. Juli eine entsprechende Versuchsreihe zu beginnen.

ISL to invest $15.5 million in rural phone network

DHAKA, July 25 (Reuters) - Bangladesh's Integrated Services Ltd. (ISL) will invest 1 billion taka ($15.51 million) to extend a phone network to rural areas in the southern part of the country, a top company official said on Monday.
"ISL will out roll out fixed wireless network in 34 administrative districts to provide telecommunication facilities among rural people," ISL Chairman Afzal Chowdhury told reporters at a briefing.

The company has already entered into an equipment supply agreement with U.S. firm Alvarion (ALVR.O: Quote, Profile, Research) , Chowdhury added. ISL will commission 34 base stations to launch the service by the end of the year.

The company plans to offer 300,000 fixed wireless phones in the first phase, officials said.

Bangladesh, with a population of 140 million, has about one million fixed phone subscribers and over 5 million mobile phone subscribers
