The decision of Uralkali to leave the Belarus Potash Company joint venture to sell potash to the global market has dropped potash prices and substantially hurt PotashCorp"s bottom line for this year.

Nevertheless, PotashCorp CEO, Bill Doyle, recently suggested to analysts that the market could have over-reacted to the breakup of Belaruskali.

"Historically, the third quarter brings a seasonal slowdown and it was exaggerated in potash this year by Uralkali"s announced changes in sales strategy at the very end of July," he observed. "This created tremendous market uncertainty."...

BHP sticks with "wait and see" approach on Jansen

Speaking at the group’s AGM, Andrew Mackensie, BHP CEO, said were circumstances to change the potash project could speed up, but, for now it’s a good idea just to wait and see."

"Under most scenarios, (Jansen) would be a very high return project for shareholders, however we can make it even better by getting our timing to market right," Mackenzie said.

BHP has said it would seek to bring partners into Jansen to spread risk and cost, and confirmed on Thursday that it was in discussions. Mackenzie declined to give details.

gestern! das waren fast 20% des Tagesumsatzes und über 19 Euro geschlossen!

...sicherlich können die Leerverkaufspositionen lange gehalten werden. Trotzdem sind das halt nur "Buchgewinne", die auch realisiert werden müssen, um die Performance zu dokumentieren. Meine persönliche Meinung ist deshalb, dass wir zwischen dem 14.11.13 und dem Jahresende 2013 eine deutliche Verringerung der Leerverkaufsquote sehen werden.

Wer dann wirklich profitiert weiss derzeit allerdings niemand. Hängt, wie im Forum ja schon oft beschrieben, von der Beurteilung des Ergebnisses  Q3, den Aussichten für den Kalipreis und unseren (Weiss)russischen Freunden ab (auch da war ich schon optimistischer im Bezug auf die Zeitschiene).

wie auch immer, ich bin long und bleibe es auch (Einstiegskurs ca 22 Euro, mittleres 4 stelliges Aktienvolumen)

Russia's Uralkali signs 171 mln euro 14-year loan Agreement

Oct 30 (Reuters) - Russia's Uralkali has signed a loan agreement worth 171.4 million euros ($236 million) to finance construction at its Ust-Yayvinsky mine, the world's largest potash miner by output said on Wednesday.

UniCredit and DZ Bank made the 14-year loan at a rate based on three-month Libor, it said.

"This deal further diversifies Uralkali's loan portfolio and prolongs its average maturity," the firm's acting chief executive Viktor Belyakov said in a statement.

Uralkali, whose net debt was $2.7 billion at the end of June, said in September it would apply for a $400 million credit line and a five-year loan of up to $994 million to refinance its loans.

The company plans to ramp up production to 15 million tonnes a year from 13 million by 2020 as part of a strategy to offset lower global potash prices, which have fallen since the firm abruptly quit a sales alliance with Belarus in July. Uralkali CEO's appeal against arrest in absentia to be heard on November 6

MOSCOW, October 31 (RAPSI, Maria Petrova) - The Moscow City Court on November 6 will consider an appeal filed by Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner against his arrest in absentia issued by Russia, RAPSI learned in the Basmanny District court on Thursday.

On October 15, a criminal investigation into the chief executive of the world's largest potash producer was opened in Russia. On October 21, Moscow's Basmanny District court issued an arrest warrant in absentia for Baumgertner.

Konstantin Solodovnikov, former Belaruskali executive, is another suspect along with Baumgertner and a number of other unnamed executives who were charged with abuse of power.

da wird kaum ein Cent nach unten abgegeben , schon steigt der Kurs wieder durch Käufe an....

zu haben. Abgesehen davon, daß bei Börsenumsätzen auch immer jemand auf der Verkäuferseite steht (man könnte dann genauso gut schreiben, wer lädt solche Mengen ab), werden in der Schlußauktion immer relativ (und meist auch nominal) viele Umsätze getätigt. Der Umsatz (sollte er nicht außerordentlich hoch sein, dann vielleicht) stellt kein Indikator für irgendetwas da.

Wahllos 3 Beispiele von gestern : Thyssen SA : 19 % des Tagesumsatzes, Conti : 22 %, Dt. Telekom : 23 %.

20 % sind völlig normal und auch nominal war der Umsatz der SA nicht bemerkenswert hoch.

Wie auch immer, ich fühle mich bei K+S immernoch sehr wohl, charttechnisch wird ein Boden ausgebildet und das Sentiment ist extrem negativ. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, daß K+S mittelfristig höher steht, ist für mich wesentlich höher, als das der Kurs noch deutlich nach unten geht.

nicht sinkt, deine schwarzen Sterne werden Fakten nicht negieren können , denn Fakt ist Fakt!

Aber gut, man erkennt diese Leute eh meistens an ihren Postingsverhalten

man weiß gleich wer zu dieser Shortergruppe gehört......
