22 January 2008
GoConnect’s video sharing traffic growth exceeds expectations and provides strong impetus for anticipated advertising revenue growth GoConnect is pleased to advise that since the beginning of 2008, its video sharing sites, www.tokillfor.com and www.gay2share.com have continued to grow their traffic numbers which exceed our earlier expectations.
Since November 2007 a number of initiatives have been introduced to further boost end user traffic growth. These include, importantly, the affiliate marketing agreement with QSoft, owner of the global Gaydar brand, the largest gay and lesbian meeting portal in the world; a Members’ Share Rewards program which has been activated since 1 January 2008; establishment of the RMIT University Channel to enable the university’s media students to showcase their short films; and a Mardi Gras Channel which has been established in time to promote the Sydney Gay Mardi Gras event in coming weeks. GoConnect will continue to introduce new and exciting initiatives on these sites to provide greater value to users and to become “must use” sites for advertisers.
For the first 21 days of January 2008, the two sites combined already delivered over 254,000 unique users, 166% above that of the entire month of December 2007, and generated over 4,079,000 page view impressions, 65% above that for the entire month of December 2007. More importantly, as GoConnect is also the exclusive media sales agent for Gaydar Australia, the combined unique users of Gaydar Australia and www.gay2share.com now exceed 500,000 users. Accordingly, GoConnect represents the largest gay and lesbian online media community in Australia and the largest gay and lesbian online video-sharing site in the world. In the world of online advertising, the gay and lesbian market represents a premium market to advertisers. GoConnect is in the premier position to benefit from the growth in advertising to this premium market. As a pioneer in online video and online video advertising, GoConnect will be able to capitalize on its experience with
its patented GoTrek video delivery platform to capture strong revenue from video advertising including from interstitials (video commercials) and video banner ads. The significant traffic being generated by the two sites, combined with the substantial unique user base of Gaydar Australia, provides our advertising sales team with a dominant online media platform to market to mainstream advertisers and agencies, particularly for those targeting the gay and lesbian community. The substantial and growing size of GoConnect’s online media platform, together with the ability and experience of the Company to deliver online video advertising, enables our sales team to deliver for advertisers, better targeted and refreshing campaigns which will lead to a growing level of revenue."
