IT giant Intel takes the conflict mineral bull by the horns

Intel has taken a giant leap forward in responsible sourcing for the electronics and IT industry by announcing that —from now on— every microprocessor the company uses will be made entirely with conflict-free minerals.

CEO Brian Krzanich, who is just six months into the position, said Intel will make sure that every piece of tantalum, tungsten, gold, and tin found in its microprocessors will come from smelters that only source minerals mined outside areas plagued by armed conflict and human rights abuse, such as those affecting parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries.

The company’s move is the culmination of years of effort to track down the smelters, more than 60 in in 20 countries, which provide the firm with key minerals and then auditing them for where the minerals came from.

Other companies, such as Apple, Samsung, and HP, are also taking steps to identify their smelters and keeping them conflict-free when possible.

Ich hatte die E-Mail gelesen, die wohl von Avalon als Antwort auf den Artikel von Darran Smith kam, und mein Gott, sind die angepisst!

ich habe (leider) nicht die Zeit, mich mit gehalten der anderen, zitierten Explorer zu beschäftigen, aber das hauptargument habe ich auch gesehen: es ist egal, wieviel du im Gestein hast ( oder weniger wichtig!), Hauptsache es gelingt dir mit wenig Kosten und einem einfachen Verfahren das hoch aufzukonzentrieren, und das hat CCe mit seinen 44 % ja jüngst eindeutigt demonstriert!!!

für unsere lernresistenten kleingeister hier mal wieder - wie gewünscht - ein auszug vom kanadischen kurs. obwohl dieser leichte kursanstieg auf dem derzeitigen konsolidierungniveau wohl eher nebensächlich ist. wichtiger ist gerade die sich vollziehende stabilisierung, um spätestens bei der nächsten meldung dann wieder zünden zu können... aber vielleicht hilft es ja den anfangs erwähnten auf die sprünge, um den chartverlauf endlich mal richtig interpretieren zu können. man soll die hoffnung ja nicht aufgeben...

RE:RE:RE:Knocking out misleading statements in the rare earth space Yup, whenever humans are assessing anything there will be differences of opinion. However, I have to say
that the articles in question make one of the most well reasoned and compelling cases I have ever seen.
Truthfully, the robust potential of the Ashram project jumped out at me long before I read the articles and I
always wondered why the market was giving other less promising projects higher value. I think it is
because cce was late to the party and only arrived after the gleam of the rare earth sector was fading in
the eyes of investors and they were no longer paying attention. I have been following the exploration juniors for years and consider that cce offers some of the best potential I have seen, not just in the rare
earth sector but across the mining sector. The fly in the ointment is that cce is too small to develop the
project and needs to find a partner and we are presently in a very depressed environment for mining
companies and project financing. But in terms of the robust potential of the project, both in an absolute
sense and a comparative one, cce is stellar. And that does not even take into account the value of the
Blue River tantalum/niobium project which has good stand-alone economic value.
