Jefferies & Co. analyst upgrades China Sunergy to 'Buy' with $15 price target SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A Jefferies & Co. analyst upgraded solar power product company China Sunergy Co. on Monday, citing a better 2009 earnings outlook, improved liquidity and better visibility of silicon supplies. Analyst Paul Clegg lifted his rating to "Buy" from "Hold" and increased his price target by $3 to $15. In premarket activity, the company's shares climbed 50 cents, or 4.3 percent, to $12.22. Clegg said in a client note that he believes Wall Street's consensus estimates for China Sunergy are too low and do not reflect the company's improved outlook for growing its production of efficiency cells. "China Sunergy's silicon supply outlook and liquidity situation are improving, providing greater confidence in the company's ability to execute on increasing its production of higher margin, high efficiency cells," Clegg wrote. Last week, China Sunergy reported second-quarter profit above Wall Street expectations on higher revenue from solar cells.
