Und selbst mein Dinosaurier (Compaq) macht seine 5,5%. Es gibt also noch Hoffnung, auch wenn manch anderer Wert in meinem Depot die Farbe trägt. Jetzt müssen die anderen Genchip-Werte (Incyte, nanogen, Sequenom, etc) nur noch etwas zulegen und die Stimmung ist besser als die Lage.

AFFX surprises with a profit

Affymetrix (AFFX: news, msgs) is jumping $7.69, or 14.7 percent, to $60, after the Santa Clara,
Calif., provider of genetic systems reported a profit of $295,000 for the third quarter, resulting in
breakeven results on a per share basis. This performance, which represents an improvement from
last year’s loss of $5.8 million, or 11 cents a share, soundly beat the average estimate of analysts
polled by First Call for a loss of 12 cents. Revenue jumped 89 percent in the latest three months to
$55.8 million from $29.5 million in the same period a year earlier.
