Industry's IT Revolution
Revenues Continue to Increase, Defying Temporary Market Slowdown
Budapest, November 10 1999
Graphisoft (Frankfurt Neuer Markt: GPH),developer of the Virtual
Building concept of architectural design and technology leader in
3D architectural CAD, today announced revenues for the three months
and nine months ended September 30, 1999, of 5,514 and 17,210 thousand
EUROs (TEUR) respectively. This means + 0.7% and + 9.1% growth despite
of a general slowdown of the AEC CAD marketplace in 1999. The Company's
revenue growth becomes more attractive and the comparison more
meaningful if we measure revenues excluding upgrades. In 1999 the new
release of Graphisoft's core product, ArchiCAD came to the market in
November only, as opposed to previous years, when releases had been
launched in the third quarter. The elimination of comparison distorting
upgrade revenues results in 5,132 and 15,668 thousand EUROs realized in
the three and nine months ended September 30, 1999, representing +15.5%
and +15.2% growth.
Slower growth of revenues and a slightly above budgeted growth of
operating expenses affected the Company's profits. Graphisoft achieved
3,247 TEUR net income and 0.30 EUR earnings per share in the nine months
ended September 1999, compared to 4,643 TEUR and 0.46 EUR of last year.
Nevertheless, due to the additional revenues from the upgrade release in
November 1999, by the year's end Graphisoft expects to approach the
outstanding operating incomes of previous years.
Industry analysts agree that Internet-based business-to-business
e-commerce will become the major driving force behind the development of
information technology in the coming years. This
reaffirms the Company's comprehensive Internet strategy that provides the
fundamentals for future success. In the next few years Graphisoft intends
to become a major technology provider for the integration of object-based
building design and component manufacturing with commerce on the Web.

CAD-Software-Hersteller für die Architektur- und
Bauindustrie, berichtet für das dritte Quartal
seines Geschäftsjahres, das am 30. September 1999
endete, einen Umsatz von 5,514 Mio. Euro. In den
ersten neuen Monaten wurden insgesamt 17,210 Mio.
Euro erzielt. Im Vergleich zu den
Vorjahreszeiträumen entspricht dies einer
Steigerung von 0,7 bzw. 9,1 Prozent, und dies
trotz einer allgemeinen Stagnation des
AEC/CAD-Marktes im Jahr 1999. Weiter muß für den
Vergleich der Umsatz im Vergleichsquartal des
Vorjahres um die Umsätze aus dem Update der neuen
Version vom Flaggschiffprodukt ArchiCAD bereinigt
werden, da heuer das Update erst im November
erfolgt. So betrachtet ergibt sich ein bereinigter
Umsatz von 5,132 Mio. Euro für das Quartal bzw.
15,668 Mio. Euro für die ersten neuen Monate, was
einer Steigerung von 15,5 bzw. 15,2 Prozent
entspricht.
Langsameres Umsatzwachstum und etwas höher als
geplant ausgefallene operative Ausgaben wirkten
sich auf das Ergebnis des Unternehmens aus.
Graphisoft erzielte einen Nettogewinn von 3,247
Mio. Euro oder 30 Cent je Aktie in den ersten
neuen Monaten bis September 1999. Im Vergleich
zur Vorjahresperiode waren es 4,643 Mio. Euro bzw.
46 Cent/Aktie. Da heuer jedoch der Umsatzzuwachs
aus dem Upgrade-Geschäft erst im November kommen
wird, rechnet Graphisoft weiterhin, wie in den
vergangenen Jahren, mit einem außergewöhnlichen
hohen operativen Ergebnis.
Die Branchenanalysten sind sich einig, dass das
sogenannte Business-to-Business Handelsgeschäft im
Web zur treibenden Kraft in der gesamten
IT-Branche der kommenden Jahre wird. Vor diesem
Hintergrund legt Graphisoft mit einer umfassenden
Internetstrategie den Grundstein für den künftigen
