HOUSTON, Sept. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Metallium, Ltd. (ASX: MTM; OTCQX: MTMCF), the company that extracts high-value critical minerals such as gallium, germanium, antimony, rare earth elements and gold from feedstocks including refinery scrap, e-waste and monazite, announced the appointment of Travis Langster to the Advisory Board of Flash Metals USA. Flash Metals USA is Metallium's 100% owned U.S. subsidiary commercializing the Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology.

Michael Walshe, Managing Director and CEO of Metallium made the announcement saying: "Mr. Langster is a highly regarded aerospace and defense executive, with a distinguished career in the U.S. Department of Defense and senior leadership roles in the space and missile defense sectors. This unique combination of leadership, international policy expertise and strong industry connections across the electronics and semiconductor supply chains is invaluable to Metallium as we continue to ramp up commercialization of the FJH technology in the U.S." Walshe added that this appointment, alongside the recently announced appointment of Greg Bowman, continues to strengthen the foundation of a world-class Advisory Board to guide the company's U.S. operations.

"I am honored to join the Advisory Board of Flash Metals USA at this pivotal time," said Langster. "The United States and its allies face an urgent need to secure resilient, sustainable supply chains for critical and strategic materials, particularly for the electronics and defense sectors. Metallium's technology platform is a transformative and scalable solution to these challenges, and I look forward to supporting the team's mission to advance U.S. industrial base modernization and global supply chain resilience."

Langster's appointment brings deep expertise and a global network across defense, aerospace, semiconductor, and electronics industries in the US and Asia. Most recently he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International & Industry Equipment, where he led efforts to modernize the U.S. defense industrial base, develop armaments cooperation policies, and integrate international agreements in research, development, acquisition, and logistics. He previously served as Principal Director of Space and Missile Defense Policy, where he played a key role in launching the DoD's inaugural Commercial Space Integration Strategy in April 2024, a landmark initiative that formally embedded commercial space capabilities into U.S. national security planning. Metallium (https://www.metalliuminc.com) is pioneering a low-carbon, high-efficiency approach to recovering critical and precious metals from mineral concentrates and high-grade waste streams. The company's patented Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology is being commercialized by Flash Metals USA, the company's 100% owned subsidiary. With its exclusive license from Rice University to the technology, Flash Metals USA is developing its first commercial plant near Houston Texas, with options on additional already-permitted facilities in Massachusetts and Virginia. The process targets the recovery of strategic metals such as Rare Earth Elements, Antimony, Gallium, Germanium, Indium, as well as gold, silver, copper and tin. In addition, it also targets recovery of chloride intermediates for REE magnet and semiconductor markets. The technology platform is modular and low emission.
