ORLANDO, Fla., March 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim), a wholly owned subsidiary of BAE Systems (LON: BA), is partnering with the U.S. Army Futures Command to develop an end-to-end solution for generating 3D data and game-ready, high-fidelity terrain within the Synthetic Training Environment Mission Planning Toolkit (MPT).

The MPT prototype recently achieved Initial Operating Capability following the integration of BISim's Mantle terrain management platform. This collaboration delivers an affordable, comprehensive solution for mission planning. The MPT features an autonomous drone that captures terrain imagery specific to mission simulations. This data is streamed into real-time terrain, enhancing simulations in VBS4 and Blue IG. The high-quality drone data ensures a more realistic synthetic environment, enabling users to plan missions based on terrain that mirrors real-world conditions.

"BISim's focus on operational readiness is evident in solutions like the MPT," said Pete Morrison, chief product officer at BISim. "We have a deep understanding of military needs, and our developers are equipped to deliver transformative capabilities quickly and affordably.  Significant advancements in our Mantle platform allow this training capability to translate to a broad range of customers, and we and look forward to expanding its offerings to the industry."

This solution allows operators to rapidly develop mission plans, saving valuable time in the planning phase. The result is more time for units to conduct rehearsals in the training environment. Once operational rehearsals begin, initial mission plans can be adjusted, allowing for better decision-making on the battlefield before mission execution. The MPT enables soldiers to operate with unparalleled speed and confidence, running the same scenario multiple times before actual execution.

"In a resource constrained environment, the STE Mission Planning Kit is a force multiplier for 188th Infantry Brigade to enable our Army Reserve and National Guard partners to understand the operational environment and effectively plan training," said Col. William Shoemate, Commander of the 188th Infantry Brigade in Fort Stewart, Georgia. The 188th is currently utilizing the MPT.
