Vestas has signed a framework agreement to deliver 207 MW across five locations in Turkey to a joint venture between the German utility EnBW and the Turkish holding company Borusan, with the first 30 MW order firm and unconditional.

The deal represents the largest customer framework agreement in the Turkish wind power market ever.

As part of the framework agreement, Vestas will supply nine V112-3.3 MW turbines for the extension of the Bandirma wind power plant located in the Balikesir Province, south of Marmara Sea, Turkey. Deliveries are expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2014 with commissioning in the first quarter of 2015.

The 30 MW contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system, as well as a five-year full-scope service agreement (AOM 4000), extendable to 10 years...

Vestas has launched the Large Diameter Steel Tower, a cost effective solution to increase tower height for 3 MW turbines to over 140m. The new solution boosts annual energy production on low wind sites by up to eight per cent.

The Large Diameter Steel Tower (LDST) - an innovative solution patented by Vestas - enables cost effective taller towers to take advantage of stronger wind conditions at higher hub heights for the V117-3.3 MW and V126-3.3 MW turbines, increasing annual energy production and therefore revenue for customers.

On a typical site with a mean wind speed of 6.5m/s, the LDST will increase annual energy production by up to eight per cent at a hub height of 137 meter for the V126-3.3 MW compared to a hub height of 117 meter for the conventional steel tower.---

MAKE Consulting has released its list of the top 15 global wind turbine suppliers of 2013. According to the report, Vestas has maintained its No. 1 spot, GE has dropped from second to sixth place, and Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have secured over half of the top positions.

  U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, both Democrats from Colorado, and 24 other senators urged Senate Finance Committee leadership Friday to extend the wind production tax credit in upcoming legislation.

The committee should extend the production tax credit to support the 80,000 Americans employed in the U.S. wind industry, the senators wrote in a letter to finance committee chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and ranking member Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. A bipartisan coalition of 118 members of the U.S. House sent a similar letter to the House Committee on Financial Services.

Wind energy provides power to more than 15 million American homes, as well as to thousands of farms and businesses, the senators said.
"Like all businesses, the wind industry seeks certainty and predictability so that long-term project decisions and investments can be made," the letter stated. "Without that stability, we once again risk losing many of the jobs, infrastructure and investment that the wind industry has created."

The production tax credit, which Congress renewed at the beginning of 2013, expired in December. The wind industry continues to benefit from the tax credit this year because the credit included wind projects that started in 2013. By contrast, the wind tax credit in 2012 applied to projects finished that year.

Companies such as Denmark-based wind-turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (OMX: VWS) have benefited from the tax credit. Vestas, which operates factories in Windsor, Brighton and Pueblo, recently announced that it would hire additional workers following record wind-turbine orders in 2013.

A Vestas spokesman did not immediately respond to requests for comment on efforts to extend the production tax credit.

The tax credit not only benefits large companies such as Vestas, but also to smaller Colorado companies in the wind industry supply chain, Udall spokesman Mike Saccone said.

"There are ripple effects for the tax credit," he said.

Im Interview mit Berlingske tidningen führte er aus,dass Mitsubishi 300 Millionen bezahlt hatte und mit weiteren 300 Millionen wollten sie die Kontrolle über Vestas und Vestas hätte seine Selbständigkeit verloren.

Given the scale of the project, Vattenfall and ScottishPower Renewables are developing East Anglia in phases. The first phase already has a grid connection agreement for 1.2GW and is expected to start offshore construction in 2017.

Fünf Top-Manager entlassen: Was ist los bei Vestas?
Münster – Der dänische Windenergieanlagen-Hersteller Vestas hat offenbar fünf Top-Manager fristlos entlassen. Darunter soll sich auch der langjährige deutsche Vertriebschef Andreas Eichler befinden.

Wie das Magazin BIZZ energy today berichtet, sei Eichler schon Mitte März 2014 gefeuert worden. Auch die weiteren vier Manager seien bereits nicht mehr für Vestas tätig. Über die Gründe wird spekuliert.

Compliance-Vorwürfe: Steckt ein Korruptionsskandal dahinter?
Unter Berufung auf Branchenkreise spricht das Magazin von einem möglichen schweren Korruptionsskandal. Eine Sprecherin von Vestas habe die Entlassungen bestätigt und lediglich „Compliance-Vorwürfe“ als Gründe genannt. Unter Compliance wird allgemein die Einhaltung von Verhaltensegeln, Gesetzen und Richtlinien durch Unternehmen und deren Mitarbeiter verstanden.

Vestas recaptured its position as the undisputed number-one global turbine manufacturer in 2013, with the US’s GE dropping to fifth place after an extremely weak year for the American wind market, latest figures from BTM show.

China’s Goldwind rose from seventh place in 2012 to global number two – the position that it had previously gained in 2011, propelled by a strong recovery in growth in China, which, with 16.01GW of installations, was the world’s largest market.

Vestas had 13.1% of the global market, while Goldwind had 11% and Enercon had 9.8%.

Vestas macht mir Angst. Die Aktie fällt ins Bodenlose ohne echten Grund.
Und jetzt steigt sie wieder -- auch ohne offensichtliche Ursache.

AARHUS (dpa-AFX) - Der dänische Windradbauer Vestas  und der bisherige deutsche Vertriebschef Andreas Eichler gehen künftig getrennte Wege. Mehrere Mitarbeiter, darunter auch Eichler, seien nicht mehr bei dem Unternehmen beschäftigt, sagte ein Vestas-Sprecher am Dienstag in Kopenhagen der dpa. Zuvor hatte der Branchendienst BIZZ energy today unter Berufung auf eine Vestas-Sprecherin berichtet, der Windradhersteller habe fünf Top-Manager aufgrund schwerer Regelverstöße mit sofortiger Wirkung entlassen. Branchenkreise spekulierten danach über einen schweren Korruptionsskandal.

Der Vestas-Sprecher kommentierte nicht, ob die Mitarbeiter auf eigenen Wunsch gegangen oder entlassen worden seien. "Vestas betrachtet dies als Angelegenheit zwischen dem Unternehmen und den betroffenen Angestellten, und deshalb haben wir keine weiteren Kommentare", erklärte er. Eichler war bis zu seinem Weggang Vizepräsident und Chef des Vertriebs von Vestas in Deutschland.

Vestas, langjähriger Marktführer für Windanlagen, hatte in den vergangenen Jahren durch Konkurrenzdruck und Preisverfall in der Krise gesteckt, zuletzt aber wieder etwas Aufwind gespürt./wbj/DP/stb

The contracts for the two wind power plants in Basilicata include supply, installation and commissioning of six V117-3.0 MW and nine V117-3.3 MW wind turbines, respectively. The order also includes a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system as well as a 10-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

The wind turbines are scheduled to be delivered in the third quarter of 2014 and to be commissioned before the end of 2014.....
