LONDON (CBS.MW) -- U.K. mortgage lender Halifax said Friday house prices rose 0.6 percent in June on the month and up 21.9 percent on the year. It said UK house prices in the first six months of the year were up by 7.1 percent, double the long-term average rate of increase. Halifax raised its projection for annual growth in house prices following the June data, to a 10 percent increase from a 9 percent increase. "There is a possibility, however, that the final outcome could well be house price growth of more than 10 percent this year," the lender said. ]
