Ferrostaal presents its portfolio of conventional and solar power plants
Milan, 2011-06-06
Exhibition at the PowerGen in Milan
At the industrial fair PowerGen, which takes place from June, 7th – 9th, in Milan, Ferrostaal will present its current portfolio of conventional and solar power plants. At the exhibition in Milan, there will be two models of plants that are at Ferrostaal under construction at present.
One model shows a gas-steam power plant in La Brea, Trinidad, which will be completed shortly and, with an output of 765 Megawatt, will play an important role in the energy supply of Trinidad and Tobago. The second model shows a solar power plant like the two, which Ferrostaal builds in Spain currently.
One solar power plant named Extremasol 1 will be in the Extremadura region, where Ferrostaal has just started with construction works. A second plant named Andasol 3 is built by Ferrostaal in the south of Spain. It will begin supplying power in autumn 2011 already, and together with Andasol 1 and 2, supply up to 500,000 consumers with environmentally-friendly electricity. In La Brea as well as at both plants in Spain, Ferrostaal, partly together with experienced partners, has taken on the role of the general contractor for engineering, procurement and construction.
Recently, Ferrostaal has been awarded to build a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP) in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The plant with an electrical capacity of 240 MW and a thermal capacity of 170 MWth will consist of two gas turbines and one steam turbine allowing variable operation in combined cycle modes, with and without district heating.
