The Hong Kong stock market today recorded HK$324.58 million of short selling orders on 41 stocks.
HSBC Holdings (0005) topped the short-selling list, with HK$36 million shares sold short, accounting for 11.1 percent of the market's total. HSBC ended today down 2.4 percent at HK$89.75. Turnover was HK$574.1 million.
In second place was PCCW (0008) which had HK$34 million shares sold short. Then came Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016), Cheung Kong Holdings (0001) and China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd. (0941).
