The United States saw a $58.7 billion budget deficit in March, the Treasury Department said Friday. The shortfall compares with a larger $64.2 billion deficit in the same month last fiscal year. Year-to-date, the nation is running a $252.6 billion deficit, larger than the $131.9 billion deficit in the same timeframe last fiscal year. The Bush administration predicts a $307.4 billion deficit for the fiscal year to end Sept. 30.
