ORAD WELCOMES THE TV HIGH-DEFINITION ERA WITH A REVOLUTIONARY VIDEOGRAPHICS COMPUTER
Tel Aviv, (November 14 2001), Orad Hi-Tec systems, world leader in TV graphics, Virtual Sets and Virtual Advertising systems, announced today the launch of a High Definition (HD) version of its novel videographics computer, the DVG. The new system will be first unveiled on Wednesday, November 14th at the 2001 Interbee broadcast show in Tokyo, Japan.
Since its inception earlier this year Orad delivered about 50 DVG computers to high-profile customers such as Telemadrid, Telefonica (Spain), Zee TV (India), BBC Wales (UK), TV6 (Russia), La 7 (Italy) and many others. Orad harnessed this revolutionary videographics technology to power its real-time broadcast applications like virtual sets, on-air graphics and sports animations. The engine is also used to run 3rd party applications. The DVG provides the best video and graphics performance available on the market today.
HDTV is the future 16:9 TV standard with 6 times higher resolution than the current standard TV format. It is already in use in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia and the US and will probably become the worldwide standard in the near future.
Apart from addressing all real-time graphics requirements of the High Definition broadcast market, the HD DVG is designed to serve as a cost-effective and scalable graphical engine for visual simulation and virtual reality systems used in the military, security, medical and entertainment markets.
“Once again Orad has proven its capability to promptly respond to the changing requirements of the broadcast market” said Avi Sharir, Orad’s President and CEO. “We believe the DVG is one of Orad’s most powerful growth engines. First it gives us an unprecedented competitive advantage in the standard and now the high-definition TV markets. Secondly, thanks to the DVG’s scalability, we can now also address the requirements of the huge visual simulations market with the highest performance graphical solution available. This is a real breakthrough and a huge opportunity for Orad” added Mr. Sharir.
The High Definition DVG, empowering Orad’s virtual set and on-air graphics applications, will be first unveiled on Wednesday, 14th November at InterBee 2001 show in Japan, at Orad KK booth no. 8405 and Ikegami, booth no 7205.
