Nachdem sowohl Lycos als auch Yahoo bereits auf die GMail-Ankündigung von Google reagiert haben, zieht Microsoft mit MSN Hotmail demnächst nach und stockt den Postfach-Speicherplatz seines E-Mail-Dienstes auf: Über den Microsoft-Dienst erhalten Kunden demnächst eine Postfachgröße von 250 MByte; während diese gegen Bezahlung auf 2 GByte ansteigt. Allerdings dauert es in Deutschland noch bis Ende des Jahres, bis der Speicherausbau umgesetzt wird.
