Expanding Consolidation

Dow trends lower, reverses off lows to end session flat.

From prior commentary, "...The index ended the day just below the lower boundary of the channel, which is slightly bearish. We will likely see some form of sideways action before another big move occurs..."

As we anticipated, the Dow traded sideways for much of the session before pushing down late in the day, as seen in the 15 Minute Chart. However, the index formed a sharp v-bottom reversal at the lows and powered higher just before the Close to ultimately end the session flat.

LLL fell hard today after consolidating for about a month. Today's move takes it back into its previous range, so a move to the bottom of this range is expected. The intial stop is easy at we want to place it near the top of the trading range.
