Was ich aber nicht mag, sind Typen, die anderen am Bein runterpinkeln wie von Deiner Sorte.

Und außerdem außer Herumpinkeln nichts posten können.

Die Kosten für den Betrieb der Vertcials sind minimal - denn Know How, Technik, Content und Patente sind eh da.

auch nur der geringste Versuch von Short-Covering treibt den Kurs nach oben. Meines Erachtens haben das einige kleine von dem Criminal Crime hinter The Street Sweeper manipulierte Lemmings richtigerweise getan. Und um den Kurs zum Schluss wieder runterzuholen, dürften sich die Big Shorts oder der Big Short weiter in die Scheisse gerammelt haben. Die hoffen immer noch, dass sie wegen der noch hohen Quote von privaten Anlegern (was inzwischen aber auch schon anders sein könnte, denn unsere letzten Ergebnisse stammen vom 30.9.2012 - und jetzt sind wir schon im Dezember), Blöde finden, die weiter ohne Deckung leer verkaufen - das dürfteaber immer schwieriger werden.

So when you say you're going to grow in future periods, can you elaborate?

Yes. We expect to grow. We're continuing to grow organic traffic and organic ad revenues so that we continue to grow in to Q3 to Q4, we grew in Q3, we expect it to grow in to Q4 and again in Q1. In Q4, we're optimizing against these policy guidelines and we're doing the normal optimization that we would do, so we do anticipate there to be upside as we enter in to Q1 or typically we get a lot of traffic volume. And so we expect the top line to increase in Q1 over Q4 and we expect the bottom line to improve as well. Basically, if you kind of go back to our Q3 outlook, we're expecting a higher adjusted net income in Q4 than incremental increases, so it's taking a step down from that based on this, but the underlying story is the same, we still expect incremental increases and that we do anticipate in Q1, Q2 next year as well.

und da ist meines Erachtens Local Corp besser aufgestellt als alle anderen  Vergleichunternehmen.

Led by mobile search, local digital advertising is likely to grow over 13 percent in 2012 and will soon make up 25 percent or more of the local ad market. The forecast, completed by BIA/Kelsey, pegs mobile search growth at an astounding 77.2 percent, followed by online video at 51.6 percent and social media growth at 26.3 percent.

Nach einem Herumwerkeln, ohne dass man wusste, wen man ganz konkret ansprechen wollte, hat Local Corp dann merken müssen, dass dieses Werkeln ins Blaue hinein, das am Anfang wegen des Neuheitscharakters und der fehlenden Konkurrenz gut klappte, langfristig nicht funktionieren kann. Ein totaler von Zielgruppendenken gesteuerter Relaunch der Flagshipseite Local.com war die Folge.

ist in Kombination mit dem Local-Targeting besonders wichtig.

Zunächst einmal führt dieses geschärfte Targeting zu mehr Zugriffen auf der Flagship-Seite und dem Netzwerk von Local Corp - und statt niedrigen einstelligen Prozentzahlen in früheren Zeiten schafft es Local Corp mit Local.com und dem Netzwerk auf einen Organic Traffic von sage und schreibe 40% zu kommen - zuletzt dürften es eher 50% gewesen sein, da man weniger Traffic zugekauft hat. Ziel ist es, jeweils zur Hälfte mit Organic Traffic und zur Hälte mit zugekauftem Traffic zu arbeiten.

Noch wichtiger es aber die Schärfung des Targeting für den zugekaufen Traffic. Denn dieser Zukauf macht nur dann Sinn, wenn man den zugekauften Traffic besser monetarisieren kann als Google und Yahoo/Bing, von denen man diesen Traffic zugekauft. Und hier heißt nun einmal das Zauberwort Targeting. Und das ist bei Local Corp nun einmal meilenweit besser als bei Google und Yahoo/Bing.

Deshalb kann ich auch nicht nachvollziehen, warum Local Corp in Sippenhaft genommen wurde, als in dieser Woche eine Analyst von Goldman Sachs Demand Media und IAC/Interactive(Ask.com) mit dem Argument herunterstufte, dass diese auf Dauer wohl beim Monetarisieren von zugekauftem Traffic nicht besser sein könnten als Google und Yahoo/Bing. Ich habe mich mit Demand Media und IACInteracktive(Ask.com) zu wenig beschäftigt, aber der Goldman Sachser hätte nur dann mit seiner Argumentation recht, wenn das Targeting von Dmand Media und Interactive(Ask.com) nicht besser wäre als das von Google und Yahoo/Bing.

Aber Fakt ist nun einmal, dass Targeting, das intensiver ist als beim Zukaufpartner, auch bei zugekauftem Traffic Zusatzerlöse ermöglicht. Zugegebermaßen hat da Local Corp in der Vergangenheit vermutlich auch manchmal zugekauft, wenn es kurzfristig nicht rentabel war, weil man der Meinung war, dass sich die so auftretenden Verluste kurzfristig seien und sich aber langrfristig rechnen. Da der Traffic jetzt aber schon sehr hoch ist und seine Monetarisierung wichtiger erscheint, scheint man aber sich aber inzwischen von dieser Art des Traffic-Pushens verabschiedet zu haben.

We believe this demographic's propensity to buy correlates with the value of our traffic and explains, in part, why Local.com as a site monetizes at the high end of the search spectrum. Local and commercial searches by soccer moms tend to convert into buying customers at a higher rate than many other types of search traffic.

but I believe, that the downgrading of this shares trough a Goldman Sachs-analyst was the reason for the last decrease of Local Corp.

To monetize Google’s traffic better than Google is only one part of the business of Local Corp, 40% of traffic of Local Corp is organic. Daily Deals and Business Solutions are independent, too.

Local Corp will only buy traffic from Google and Bing/Yahoo today only, if the revenues of monetizing are bigger than the costs. By former growth strategies of Local Corp was traffic bought, who had higher costs than revenues from monetizing to win a critical mass, who exist now. And Local Corp can monetize the from Google and Yahoo/Bing bought traffic better than both, because Local Corp has a better targeting (only local search, concentration on soccer-moms, verticals) - such a targeting don't exist by Demand Media and IACInteractive.

Was daran verwerflich sein soll oder einen Disclaimer verstößt, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen - aber das passiert man immer wieder einmal für einige Stunden, wenn offensichtlich ein bestimmter Webmaster dort Dienst hat, dem das aus welchen Gründen auch immer nicht gefällt. Einige Stunden später geht das dann problemlos durch.

wurde ich heute gefragt, bei welchen Kurs man bei Local Corp aussteigen solle. Ob mich der Frager hier aufs Glatteis führen wollte, weiß ich nicht, und es mir auch egal. Das ist eine Antwort in der Tat schwierig. Eine Marktkapitalsierung von 100 Millionen Euro ist aus meiner Sicht momentan problemlos jetzt schon zu rechtfertigen - das wären bei etwas mehr als 22 Millionen Aktein ca. $4,50.

Ich kann mir auch sehr viel mehr vorstellen, aber was mir in den letzten Quartalen nicht gefallen hat, war der starke Anstieg der costs of revenues, denn ich halte Umsatztreiberei ohne Rücksicht auf die Kosten in dem momentanen Stadium nicht mehr für die unbedingt beste Investition. Hier hat man ja auch reagiert und will statt unrentablem Umsatzpushen jetzt in Organic Traffic und (noch wichtiger) Organic Reveneus investieren. Wenn das auch nur einigermaßen funktioniert sind auch wesentlich höhere Bewertungen als 100 Millionen vertretbar.

Nichtsdestotrotz dürfte der Beitrag zum Umsatz von Local Corp in 2012 2% und 2013 3% bis 4% nicht übersteigen. Aber zusätzliche Synergieeffekte zum Business Solutions-Bereich sind denkbar, denn ich kenne kein anderes Unternehmen als Local Corp, das sowohl eine Daily Deal-Seite selber betreibt als auch Business-Solutions für SMB's anbietet.

Hinzugekommen ist, dass Local Corp seine Traffickaufe bei Google, Yahoo und anderen eingeschränkt hat und nur noch Traffic zukauft, wenn die Monetarisierung größer ist als die Kosten des Zukaufs. Das man hat vorher nicht immer so gesehen, um zunächst einmal an Größe (ca 15 Millionen Listings von Geschäftskunden) zu gewinnen.

Der Organic Traffic ist von dieser Entwicklung nicht betroffen. Aber auch beim Total Traffic liegt man immer noch über dem Vorjahreswert.
